The comedian, who recently made her debut on ‘The Varnell Hill Show ’, the ‘Martin’ spin-off centered around Tommy Davidson’s fan-favorite character, revealed that another ‘Friday’ film is officially in the works.

She also confirmed that she will reprise her role as Auntie Suga.

Kym shared during a recent interview:

“How you gonna have a Friday without Sugar? Sugar is there. Ice Cube has not said when, but I did talk to Ice Cube, and he said the script is in. I said, ‘Do I need to start doing sit-ups?’ and he said, ‘Yes, you do.’”

Earlier this year, Ice Cube and Mike Epps confirmed the franchise would be returning, currently expected in 2027.

The series currently consists of three films: ‘Friday’ (1995), ‘Next Friday’ (2000), and ‘Friday After Next’ (2002).

While Whitley jokingly teased that the Auntie Suga fans met in the 2000 film she starred in may not be the same Suga audiences see in ‘Last Friday’, she made it clear that the long-awaited sequel has officially been greenlit.
