‘Barbershop’ is opening its doors to a new generation.

Prime Video has unveiled a teaser for its upcoming comedy starring Jermaine Fowler, giving viewers a closer look after the premiere date announcement.

The footage debuted at CultureCon on October 3. All eight episodes arrive on February 10, 2027, exclusively on Prime Video.

Fowler plays Trav, who returns to Chicago hoping to honor his grandfather’s legacy at Calvin’s barbershop.

However, the neighborhood has moved forward, and so has the shop. Finding his place means navigating a different crew, familiar community ties and plenty of strong opinions.

The setup keeps the franchise’s central attraction intact: the conversations can be every bit as important as the cuts.

As the teaser announcement details, original film co-writer Marshall Todd serves as co-showrunner alongside Max Searle.

Kevin Hart also executive produces through Hartbeat, extending the creative team behind the previously announced ensemble.

With the full season dropping together, viewers will be able to settle into Calvin’s new chapter without waiting week to week.
