Jada Pinkett Smith Voices Support For Mo’Nique In Netflix Pay Drama

Published: Wednesday 24th Jan 2018 by Sam

Mo’Nique‘s call for a Netflix boycott over alleged race and gender bias continues to cause for discussion within the entertainment space.

And now Jada Pinkett Smith is weighing in.

Ever outspoken, the ‘Girls Trip’ star expressed solidarity with her fellow actress and called others to do the same.

See what she said after the jump…

At this juncture, it’s clear there’s quite a division about Mo’Nique’s approach – something we’ve been quite vocal about here on That Grape Juice.

That said, if there’s one thing that can be agreed on, it’s that there definitely needs to be more discussion (and hopefully change) when it comes to levelling out the playing field for talent – regardless of their race or gender.

Your thoughts?

Jayda should let Monique handle her own issue and not comment on it at all because it could backfire on her

I love how black celebrities are quick to defend and automatically join Monique. You’d think out of anybody in the world, they are the best to know what actually goes down in Hollywood’s racism.

Meanwhile The grape juice and other black people are too concerned about « the approach ». You mother fu### Thomas Jefferson. This why black people never get anywhere. Chinese, indian, arabic… no one give a f*** about white people but somehow we are the only to always worry about massa’s safety before our black ass.

I’ve been saying the same thing as Jada, this isn’t about Monique’s “approach”, this is about her talent as a comedienne and an OSCAR WINNER being devalued because of her race & gender. Offering her only $500K for a special is an INSULT point blank, no matter how she “approached” the situation. I for one have not renewed my netflix subscription, and I won’t renew it until Monique’s situation gets the respect it deserves.
