‘Insecure’ has returned for its fifth and final season. And while it’s hard for fans to say goodbye, they’re undoubtedly in for a treat.

The HBO comedy has struck a chord with millions thanks to its wonderfully witty and immersive take on the story of two friends – Issa and Molly.

Led by Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji, the series is set in Los Angeles and follows the ladies as they navigate love, life, and all else in between.

This final chapter will give viewers a front seat to the penultimate fate of characters they’ve come to know and love over the last five years.

Porsha Williams may have exited the ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta,’ but she’s still bringing the drama by way of her official spin-off show, ‘Porsha’s Family Matters.’

The RHOA spin-off show sees the 40-year-old take her entire family on a trip – including her new fiancé Simon Guobadia.

And it’s clear that her relationship with the mogul (who was previously married to RHOA “Friend” Falynn Guobadia) is a major focus point of the series. Especially with her family and ex Dennis McKinley all in the mix.

Fans of ‘Insecure‘ are bracing themselves for a difficult goodbye when Issa Rae‘s HBO hit bows out later this month.

For five seasons, viewers have been immersed in the layered lives of Issa and Molly (played by Yvonne Orji) and been magnetized by the show’s ample relatability.

Now, they’ll be able to be adieu to the series by way of the freshly announced documentary ‘Insecure: The End.’

Celebrating the show’s transformation from a cultural favorite to a cultural movement, the special premieres on HBO Max on Sunday, December 26 – the same day the finale airs.

The nominations for the 2022 Golden Globe Awards have been announced – and it’s good news for the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Will Smith, Jennifer Hudson, Issa Rae, and Aunjanue Ellis.

As some of Hollywood’s most notable names, they have racked up noms for their efforts in titles including ‘House of Gucci,’ ‘King Richard,’ Respect’, ‘Pose’ and ‘Insecure.’ 

The announcement comes at a unique time for The Globes, which won’t be airing its annual ceremony on NBC amidst drama surrounding the diversity of the HPFA.

President Helen Hoehne deemed 2021 “a year of change and reflection” for the Globes and added:

“For the past eight months we have worked tirelessly as an organization to be better We also have 21 new members. The largest and most diverse in our 79-year-old history. Not only have they brought in a fresh perspective but ideas that will help us continue to evolve.”

Forgiveness and emotional triumph shine as central themes of ‘Song & Story: Amazing Grace,’ the first in OWN’s collection of ‘Song & Story’ films inspired by songs known as “anthems for womanhood.”

Starring Bresha Webb and Getenesh Berhe, ‘Grace’ tells the story of a talented artist (Webb) battling tremendous obstacles who forms an unlikely friendship with an optimistic store owner (Berh) who guides her towards the forgiveness of a painful past.” Over the course of the film’s journey (which also features legendary Gospel singer Karen Clark-Sheard), the women discover the many ways their paths are intertwined.

After joining forces to top music charts with hits like ‘Knock You Down,’ singers Keri Hilson and NE-YO reunited in an attempt to reign over TV ratings charts with their VH1 Christmas film, ‘Hip-Hop Family Christmas.’

Toplining a star-studded affair that featured MC Lyte, Terrence J, Serayah, Red Man, and more, Hilson and NE-YO (born Shaffer Smith) portrayed a newly-engaged couple who are looking to help soften the image of their fictional Rap royal family as the dysfunctional group prepares for a live Christmas television special.

Almost three years after alleging he was the victim of a hate attack, Jussie Smollett was convicted on five counts of fabricating the entire incident.

As reported, a Cook Country jury found the former ‘Empire’ actor guilty on all but one of the charges he was hit with.

The six men and six women opted to side with the account given by key prosecution witnesses Abel and Ola Osundairo, who say they conspired with Smollett to plan the January 2019 hoax.

In the wake of the verdict, Smollett’s legal team issued a statement at the front of the courthouse confirming that they will be mounting an appeal to prove his innocence.

Music superstars Kirk Franklin and Mya Harrison were just a few of the big names tapped to help Lifetime bring in some holiday cheer this year via their annual #ItsaWonderfulLifetime campaign, with each GRAMMY winner toplining one of the network’s most highly anticipated showings.

With Franklin’s ‘A Gospel Christmas’ and Harrison’s ‘My Favorite Christmas Melody’ premiered December 4 and December 5 respectively, the musical-laden Lifetime movies packed a potent, 1-2 punch on the critical and ratings front.
