In life, Baynard Rustin was one of the most prolific activists of all time. And now his story is being immortalized in new movie ‘Rustin.’
Set to premiere this November on Netflix, the movie chronicles the unwavering spirit possessed by Baynard, who is played by Emmy winner Colman Domingo.
Unapologetic about who he was, Rustin never wavered on his beliefs or who he loved. A reality that saw him make history while (in many ways) being eradicated from it too.
Until now.
Directed by five-time Tony Award winner George C. Wolfe, ‘Rustin’ will celebrate the story of a man who dared to imagine a different world and inspired a movement in a march toward freedom alongside the likes of Martin Luther King Jr.
Executive produced by Barack Obama and Michelle Obama (under their Higher Ground umbrella), and Tonia Davis, the film features an all-star cast including Chris Rock, Glynn Turman, Aml Ameen, Gus Halper, CCH Pounder, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Johnny Ramey, Michael Potts, Jeffrey Wright and Audra McDonald.

‘The Blackening’ has landed in the UK.
Directed by Tim Story and co-written by Tracy Oliver (who helmed ‘Girls Trip’ and ‘Harlem’), the hysterical horror flick follows a group of Black friends who head out on a Juneteenth weekend getaway.
However, they quickly find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. A chaotic game plays out…only for them to discover that much more than a game is at play.
Central to the edgy plot is the question: “If the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who becomes the first victim?”
To celebrate the arrival of ‘The Blackening’ this week, That Grape Juice hosted an exclusive pre-release screening in Central London.
The event saw our guests become some of the first in the country to see the movie – which stars Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Dewayne Perkins, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Jay Pharoah, and Yvonne Orji.
Hosted by Jay McGregor, the event saw invitees take home a TGJ games-themed goodie bag that included must-haves from Aphro Sprits and HiP Chocolate.
