An benevolent crew made up of some of the most powerful women in music have penned an open letter condemning remarks made by Neil Portnow.

[Women] who want to be musicians, engineers, producers, and want to be part of the industry on the executive level [need] to step up.

The Grammy chief made the comments after last week’s ceremony saw a number of its female nominees miss out on major wins.

He issued this statement after facing fire.

Sunday night, I was asked a question about the lack of female artist representation in certain categories of this year’s Grammy Awards. Regrettably, I used two words, ‘step up,’ that, when taken out of context, do not convey my beliefs and the point I was trying to make. Our industry must recognize that women who dream of careers in music face barriers that men have never faced.

Today, a group of the industry’s power players have stepped up to slam him.

As the clock counts down to Justin Timberlake‘s headlining slot at the 2018 Super Bowl Halftime Show, debate continues to rage about why he got the gig in the first place.

Indeed, given his integral role in the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” during Janet Jackson‘s 2004 performance, millions are still unable to rationalize how he has been asked back and she is reportedly “banned.”

Tomorrow night will see the Pop superstar Justin Timberlake return to the Super Bowl fourteen years after his legacy-altering showing with Janet Jackson at the event.

His return has unfortunately revived talk on how racism and sexism served his career and scorched Janet’s career following the event.

Only two weeks separates the world from the unveiling of Marvel‘s ‘Black Panther’, the Homeric movie fronted by Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett and Forest Whittaker.

The movie is projected to earn $120 million in its opening weekend and this has given Marvel good reason to up the ante on a promotional tip this week. Their latest move?

A press conference that sees the movie’s stars and director Ryan Coogler shed a tonne of light on the project and give movie buffs even more reasons to soar into cinemas when it impacts the world on the 16th.
