Much like they voiced a strong disapproval of Lifetime’s 2015 biographical movie on Whitney Houston, simply titled ‘Whitney,’ the pop icon’s family is expressing similar opposition to the forthcoming biopic based on her daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

As we reported here, TV One is gearing up to air Bobbi’s life story in an unauthorized, made-for-TV film to chronicle her demise up to her untimely death in 2015 at the young age of 22.  Titled ‘Bobbi Kristina,’ the flick is set to hit screens on October 8th, but may never see the light of day if Kristina’s father – singer Bobby Brown – has his say.

Joining forces with his late daughter’s estate, Brown’s brought forth a lawsuit to stop the film from airing:

It’s almost time!

‘Scandal’ and ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ are both back imminently and will once again form an integral part of ABC‘s “Thank God It’s Thursday” block of programming.

The Shondaland shows will have a staggered return, though, with ‘Murder’ up first.

Viola Davis and co will kick off their 4th season on September 28th, alongside ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’

‘Scandal’s 7th and final cycle joins the mix a week later on October 5th.

As buzz goes, few can boast the volume surrounding ‘Mudbound.’

Already an early Oscar favorite and showered with praise at Sundance, the Dee Rees movie initially caught critics’ attention when Netflix won the broadcast rights – for $12.5 million.

So what’s it about?

A big-screen spin on Hillary Jordan’s 2009 novel of the same name, the story (which is set in 1946, after World War II) follows the fates of two drastically different families in Mississippi. The narrative is tied together by two celebrated soldiers from each unit.

Upon returning home from the war, their unexpected friendship sees tensions rise between their respective families.

Anchored by Jason Mitchell and Carey Mulligan, the flick also stars Mary J. Blige.

Queen of Hip H0p Soul Mary J. Blige serves up regal fierce for the latest cover of ‘Variety.’ 

Taking to the publication to dish on her critically acclaimed new movie, ‘Mudbound’ (set for select theaters and Netflix premiere on November 17th), the singer/songwriter graced the pages alongside the movie’s co-stars, Dee Rees and Carey Mulligan.

The film – based on the Hillary Jordan novel of the same name – also stars Jason Clarke, Jason Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, Rob Morgan, and Jonathan Banks.   Curious to see what this awesomely assembled crew came up with?
