Cardi B is no stranger to making award show history.

As we previously reported, the ‘WAP’ performer made waves in GRAMMY record books last year when she became the first female act to win the ceremony’s ‘Best Rap Album’ trophy.  That victory was nabbed just months before she became the first female femcee to walk away with the BET Awards’ ‘Album of the Year’ honor.

Already in Billboard Music Awards record books for becoming its inaugural winner of the ‘Top Female Rap Artist’ award (introduced in 2018), now – thanks to the 2020 edition of the annual extravaganza – she’s cemented her place in its ranks.

Despite just rendering a duet with GRAMMY-winning Pop star Ariana Grande last year for the latter’s ‘Charlie Angels‘ reboot soundtrack, Khan replied ‘f*ck her’ when Luenell brought the ‘7 Rings’ singer’s name into the conversation.

Demi Lovato has a delivery of the powerful persuasion.

Ahead of her performance at this evening’s 2020 Billboard Music Awards, the songbird has hatched new song ‘Commander In Chief.’

Timed to coincide with the upcoming US presidential election, the song’s message serves to voice the outrage and pain that has been felt in response to recent events. It’s also been released to encourage the masses to vote.

Co-written by FINNEAS, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Eren Cannata, Lovato, sings:

“We were taught when we were young,
If we fight for what’s right there won’t be justice for just some.
We won’t give up, stand our ground.
We’ll be in the streets while you’re bunkering down.
Loud and proud, best believe
We’ll still take knee, while you’re
Commander in Chief.”
