‘Midnight Train to Georgia’ star Gladys Knight is pushing full steam ahead in her bid to be crowned winner of her forthcoming #VERZUZ battle against fellow R&B icon/friend Patti Labelle.

The divas set the net ablaze earlier this week when reports surfaced they would be the latest songstresses to spar hit-for-hit on the wildly popular social media platform, hosted by Swizz Beatz and Timbaland (as we reported here).

Ahead of its live showing Sunday (September 13), the legends – renown for throwing down on stage – threw down in the kitchen and sent warning shots to each other in a hilarious ad.

This battle is for the grown folks, kids!  See what we mean inside:

Weeks after premiering the song during his ‘VERZUZ’ battle against Rick Ross, GRAMMY winner 2 Chainz has unveiled a full listen to his new song, ‘Money Maker.’

Tapping Lil Wayne to assist, the tune – found on his upcoming LP ‘So Help Me God’ – heavily samples Guy‘s classic ‘Piece of My Love.’

For its Bryan Barber-directed music video, the duo paid homage to the lovely ladies of Historic Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) across the country.

Since the turn of the month, Usher – who’s been fairly mum on the media front over the past few years – has been hot on the promo trail in support of his various ventures.

First sending fans into a frenzy with news he’s launching a Vegas residency next year (click here to read more), he followed it up with the release of new single – ‘Bad Habits.’

Believed to be the latest offering from his forthcoming studio album (reportedly titled ‘Confessions II’), the new song and highly anticipated Sin City undertaking were the center of conversation during the GRAMMY winner’s recent visit to ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden.’

As if those topics weren’t enough, Ush also dished on reports he’s set to welcome another child – his first with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea.

Despite initially being forecast to top the charts, 6ix9ine‘s surprise album ‘TattleTales’ is now battling to even debut within the top 10.

Indeed, as reported, the LP has registered progressively slower (and lower) sales as the tracking week progressed.

Now, after alleging that streaming platforms aren’t supporting the project, the controversial rapper has taken a hands-on (or should we say, hand-out) – approach to promotion.

Taking to the streets, the MC gave passers by his album…for free.

Doja Cat is on a roll!

Despite her breakout album, ‘Hot Pink,’ arriving on Billboard charts in 2019, the project’s content didn’t truly begin earning recognition until 2020. In the time since, her now signature hit – ‘Say So’ – soared to the top of the Hot 100 in May, Cat’s seen her name printed a-front three Platinum plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The latest comes courtesy of ‘Say So’s follow-up, the Gucci Mane-assisted ‘Like That.’

She’s not the only one who’s been given news to celebrate from the organization, however.  Just ask Jason Derulo.

Just two years after seeing her seventh solo studio effort, ‘Sex & Cigarettes,’ quickly extinguished on the Billboard 200, R&B icon Toni Braxton looked to see her name printed in the tally’s upper rankings with its successor, ‘Spell My Name.’

Kicked off by R&B chart-topping hit, ‘Do It,’ and its funky follow-up ‘Dance,’ the opus served as the songbird’s premiere effort from new label nest, Island Records.

Boasting contributions from the likes of longtime collaborator Babyface and Antonio Dixon on the songwriting and production front while Urban hitmakers H.E.R. and Missy Elliott signed on as big named features, the LP arrived on digital shelves on August 28 – the most jam-packed day for music this year (as we mentioned here).
