The rapper’s sixth album ‘The One’ landed in stores this week – years after it was initially touted to arrive. Per the femcee, a variety of hurdles including sample clearances held up the release process.

Yet, as the saying goes “good things come to those who wait,” because the star does not disappoint on the 15-song set.

Billed as the album of the summer, the project sees the Queen of Miami joined by a lengthy list of notable names – including Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Sevyn Streeter, Dave East, Rico Love and K. Michelle.

Hey 80’s and early 90’s babies…it’s official: we’re old.

No further proof of our transition to our golden years is needed than a recent video of the 2019 NBA draft picks (all born in the late 90’s, early 2000’s) playing a cute game of ‘Name the 90’s’ that required they name people or events from the decade.

Newbie NBA ballers Coby White (19), Rui Hachimura (21), and Jarrett Culver (20), and more failed at multiple junctures to name staples in popular music and entertainment from the era.  The result?  Twitter gave the group their first real taste of fame with a hilarious roast for their shortcomings.

Once one of music’s most promising prospects, Azealia Banks has seen the volume of  her buzz drastically drop in the years since she blazed the scene with ‘212.’

Many would agree that label issues were initially the cause, yet most would also concur with the sentiment that her own volatile antics sealed the deal.

She says otherwise, though.

Because in a new rant explaining why she won’t be releasing any more bodies of work, the ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ femcee not only lays the blame at the feet of society, she adds that it doesn’t deserve her best efforts.

At this point, the terms ‘Drake‘ and ‘Billboard history’ are so frequently acquainted the pairing hardly ever comes as a surprise.  That’s certainly the case for the 32-year-old’s most recent achievement on the tally.

Now, in addition to having more career Hot 100 placements than any other solo act ever, he’s seen his name penciled in history books beside The Beatles for ‘second most top 10 hits’ in history thanks to the debut of ‘No Guidance’ –  his duet with fellow hitmaker Chris Brown.  Billboard reports:

Chris Brown’s “No Guidance,” featuring Drake, launches at No. 9 on the Hot 100. The collab begins at No. 4 on Streaming Songs with 28 million streams and No. 9 on Digital Song Sales with 15,000 sold.

The premiere gave Drake the 34th top 10 hit of his career, a move that not only ties him with the music legends but places him second only to Queen of Pop Madonna (who currently reigns with 38).  As we extend our congratz to Drizzy, look inside to see who joins he and Breezy in the top 25 on this week’s TGJ Chart Check:  Hot 100:

‘Megatron’ rapper Nicki Minaj has transformed a beef many thought had cooled from tepid to sizzling after a recent comment on her Beats 1 radio show, “Queen Radio,” has set Twitter alight.

While highlighting her new soon-to-be-hit single and its parent album, Minaj also mentioned former foe Miley Cyrus.  As fans remember, the two were friends at one point before a disagreement in 2015 saw them take their spat from the Web to a live “confrontation” at the MTV Video Music Awards.

From that point, little was said about their falling out until late May 2019 when the ‘Wrecking Ball’ beauty took to her new song, ‘Cattitude,’ to rap about the ongoing beef between Minaj and new Rap nemesis, Cardi B.

Nicki had been mum on the topic…until now.  Look inside to read her fiery comment regarding the matter:
