As always, all eyes are on who’ll be up for nominations at Black entertainment’s biggest calendar night.

Well, wonder no more. For, the nominees list has been unveiled.

After achieving ample success with back-to-back releases, Drake leads with seven nominations. Nicki Minaj follows with a whopping six nods.

The likes of Victoria Monét, Beyonce, SZA, and Megan Thee Stallion all make their presence felt with multiple nominations apiece.

Anitta has given another fine performance.

The Brazilian superstar heated up the voice stage when she stopped by to perform her songs ‘Ahi’ and ‘Lose Ya Breath.’ 

The two songs appear on her latest album ‘Funk Generation.’ Prior to her appearance on the voice, she spoke about her performance to Billboard.

“I can’t wait to bring the Brazilian Funk to ‘The Voice’ stage tonight. Ahi’ and ‘Lose Ya Breath’ are two amazing songs from my new album, ‘Funk Generation,’ and I’m so excited to perform them together for everyone,” she told the outlet.

Before Chance the Rapper fans can make a beeline to digital outlets to hear ‘Star Line,’ his forthcoming album, the GRAMMY winner is still whetting appetites with tastes of what the new project is set to serve.

After ending April with the deeply personal cut ‘Buried Alive,’ Chance follows with the equally touching, DJ Premier-assisted ‘Together.’

“If you keep the house in the family, you can keep the family in the house / If you on the run, you got family in the South,” he raps on the new tune also produced by Premier. “We used to watch “Annie, Are You Okay?” on the couch / My cousin used to slam me ’til I punched him in the mouth / My aunty used to cook for twenty people every week / My uncle in the basement, even if they never speak.”

Xscape are no stranger to headlines.

As such, when the iconic group stopped by The Breakfast Club today to promote their joint trek with SWV, ‘The Queens of R&B Tour,’ the ladies were quizzed on the alleged lawsuit member LaTocha Scott filed against the band.

Viewers of the groups’ Bravo series saw tensions explode between the ‘Who Can I Run To’ singers, most especially between sisters Tamika Scott and LaTocha – who could not establish ‘Understanding’ over the alleged stealing of money. Specifically, checks Tamika insists went…missing.

Interestingly, that wasn’t the source of the recent legal wrangle. Rather, it was LaTocha’s issues with the band’s use of the “Xscape” trademark – given that she is a co-owner and is not currently performing with the group.

Asked directly about the matter, Kandi, Tiny, and Tamika didn’t hold back with their response.
