VEVO is 10!

The streaming giant spearheaded the music industry’s dive into the digital sphere and changed the way videos are delivered to and digested by the masses.

To commemorate the occasion, the platform is celebrating the visuals that’ve proven most magnetising to the masses.

Once cast to the outskirts of Pop culture, Hip-Hop – in many ways – has come to define it. As such, it’s unsurprising that the genre dominates many a most watched list.

In salute of a sound that shaped a generation, VEVO UK have unveiled the Top 10 Most Watched Hip-Hop Videos.

And while a number of expected names make appearances, some may surprise you too.

Kesha‘s dramas have been well-documented in recent years and, having achieved a commendable comeback with 2017’s slightly sombre ‘Rainbow,’ she’s back to her rowdy ways with newly announced album ‘High Road.’

Speaking on the project, which is due in January, the singer said:

“I’m so excited to share my new music with y’all. I feel like this time around I’ve reclaimed my love of life. And I’ve decided to ‘fight for my right to party’…on my own terms!!”

To set the tone, Kesha has uncaged lead single ‘Raising Hell’ – which features Big Freedia.

Renown for her quirky visuals, she continues along said trajectory with this Luke Gilford clip that lives up to the song’s title.

After a lengthy spell on the bench, Pop songstress Selena Gomez is back and in grand fashion!

On Tuesday (October 22), the 27-year-old sent fans into a frenzy when she released the music video for ‘Lose You to Love Me’ –  the long-awaited lead single from her forthcoming third album.  Tapping Sophie Muller to direct the visual, the song shot to #1 on iTunes charts a day later, just shortly before news was unveiled the songstress would release yet another single.

Entitled ‘Look At Her Now,’ the tune – penned by Gomez, Julia Michaels, Justin Tranter, and Ian Kirkpatrick – serves as a more upbeat offering than its ‘Lose You’ predecessor.  Speaking on the double release, she said:

“I felt having these two songs released back to back completed the story of how one can rise no matter what challenges life brings,” says Gomez. “Turning off the noise and living your life on your terms.”

Both videos were shot entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro.  See feminist anthems inside:
