It looks like music lovers aren’t ready to say “next” to Ariana Grande‘s latest megahit as its grip on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 has yet to loosen.

Nabbing the position for its 7th non-consecutive week, ‘thank u, next’ rings in 2019 as the year’s first chart-topper thanks to a handsome mix of sales, streams, and digital downloads.

Grande’s “Next,”…[enjoyed] 43,000 downloads sold in the week ending Dec. 27, according to Nielsen Music…

“Next” holds at No. 5 on Radio Songs (90 million audience impressions, up 4 percent, in the week ending Dec. 30) and tumbles to No. 9 on Streaming Songs, after seven weeks at No. 1 (37.9 million U.S. streams, down 13 percent, in the week ending Dec. 27).

With the New Year upon us, it’s only a matter of time before the Coachella 2019 line-up is announced.

Towards the climax of last year, it was reported that Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, and Childish Gambino had been lined up to top the upcoming instalment of the world-famous festival.

However, recent weeks saw Timberlake’s spot evaporate due to calendar clashes attached to the rescheduling of his ‘Man Of The Woods Tour.’

24 years after making its Hot 100 debut, Mariah Carey‘s ‘All I Want For Christmas’ has not only proven itself to be an enduring yuletide classic but has actually increased its popularity over the years.

As we reported here, the tune rose to #6 (its Hot 100 peak at the time) in mid-December thanks to Spotify-shattering streams and digital downloads.  Now, just two weeks later, reports have surfaced Carey’s 2018 Christmas gift – though a week late – has come in the form of news the tune has cracked the top 5 for the first time ever!

The people have spoken (approximately 52,000 of them) and are calling for Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, better known as Jacquees, to cease his remixes of some of modern and classic R&B’s greatest hits.

Having lent his signature eee’s touch to the likes of Chris Brown‘s ‘Yo,’ Stevie Wonder‘s ‘Knocks Me Off My Feet,’ and more, the genre’s music lovers crafted a petition to discourage the crooner’s behavior.  When we first reported the news just a week ago it had garnered 11,000 signatures (click here to see).  As of time of this report, that number has increased nearly five fold.
