Jazmine Sullivan may not be afraid of ‘Lions, Tigers, & Bears,’ but a recently deleted social media post does show there’s another brigade of beasts she may fear:  Twitter users.

The Grammy-nominated soulstress took to the net recently to share her condolences after learning a fellow musician – renown gospel artist Thomas ‘TC’ Clay – was mysteriously found dead in his hotel room over the weekend.  Yet, while her lengthy eulogy may have good intentions in retrospect, the singer/songwriter seems to have had a poor choice of words – a feat evidenced by the fiery responses of some of his and her followers (prompting her to later remove the post).

With just days to go before Lady Gaga‘s album ‘Joanne’ officially lands in stores, the Pop star has debuted new song ‘A-YO’ on the stream scene.

Produced by the singer alongside Mark Ronson and BloodPop, the high-octane cut is rooted in the raw sound promised for the project.

There’s been murmurs about this being serviced as the next single from the LP. And, upon listening, it’s understandable why.

Grammy-winning R&B gem Fantasia has always shone as an anomaly (in many ways) for the genre.

A fiery performer whose career-long stage shows boast one of the most consistent deliveries of any of her contemporaries (and beyond), Fannie’s commitment to her craft seemed to be only matched by the commitment of her fan base.  Indeed, much like the failing music industry around her, each of her album’s numbers may have taken hits over time, but without fail, the figures associated with each of the songbird’s first week sales easily soared above the others in her lane  (a testament to fan loyalty if you ask us).

Well, that was until 2016’s ‘The Definition Of…‘ – the latest addition to the soulstress’s self-coined ‘Rock-Soul’ movement.

Released July 2016, ‘Definition’ – Fannie’s fifth album – was executive produced by veteran record producer/songwriter/engineer Ron Fair and featured contributions from the likes of R&B royal R. Kelly, Brian Kennedy, Stacy Barthe, Neff-U, and more.  Yet, while the production credits was lined with proven winners, their efforts seemed lost upon music lovers who generally ignored the set’s two official singles – ‘No Time (For It)’ and the Kelly-penned ‘Sleeping With the One I Love.’

Their failure on the singles chart and streaming front seemed to signal the worst for their parent album:

Fans of Jojo‘s first two outings, ‘Jojo’ [2004] and ‘The High Road’ [2006], had no clue it would be over 10 years before they got their hands on her official tertiary release.  However, after years of legal battles and working the independent and digital circuits with mixtapes and EPs, the singer/songwriter’s long-awaited third album – ‘Mad Love’ – finally made its way to mass availability on October 14th.  

Lined with features from rappers Wiz Khalifa and Remy Ma, as well as singer/songwriter Alessia Cara, the project boasts Jo at her most mature with penning and vocal chops to match.  Showing sharp, yet intentional straddle of the genres of Urban and pop (without leaning too far either way), ‘Mad Love’ is sure to get its namesake from longtime fans who’ve long learned to love the duality of the diva’s deliveries.
