Tyler Perry‘s breakaway OWN hit ‘The Haves & Haves Nots’ ended its first season on an extremely high note, easily giving the network its highest ratings to date.  But, as last night’s season 2 premiere evidenced, the success of its inaugural season was merely the beginning.

“…“The Haves and the Have Nots” kicked off its second season Tuesday with series highs and one of the largest audiences for any telecast in network history.

The sophomore-season premiere of the series about the powerful Cryer family and the hired help who work in their Savannah, Ga., mansion, averaged 2.78 million viewers in the 9 o’clock hour Tuesday — topping the show’s previous high of 2.78 million for its first-season finale last September.

Even more impressive is the show’s performance among the network’s target demo of women 25-54. Among all cable programs Tuesday night, “Haves” ranked second among women 25-54, behind only the premiere of “Being Mary Jane” on BET.”

The year’s first award televised show brought in the new year with a bang tonight thanks to help from a slew of A-list stars!  The 40th annual People’s Choice Awards saw its prestigious trophies distributed to 2013’s top acts – as voted by the fans.

In categories of music, movies, television, and more, the competition may have been its stiffest yet.  And, for those who may have not walked away with the coveted awards, they definitely still were winners on the red carpet.

As reported here, pop titans Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake both led the 2014 People’s Choice awards nominations for music categories with give each.

Going to battle for the coveted trophies against the likes of Rihanna, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, and other top stars, Perry & Timberlake’s fans showed that the mega-successes of their 2013 are undoubtedly set to spill over to the new year.

Talk about cute!

Word has it Destiny Child alums Beyoncé & Kelly Rowland dropped by Miami’s famed Sing Sing karaoke bar Tuesday evening where they surprised two unsuspecting karaoke singers.

Jay Z, Timbaland, and a host of others were reportedly in the building as well when Bey arrived and overheard one of the room’s occupants singing her 2011 hit ‘Party’.

Pitbull seems to have found the key to success – co-stars!  Just ask Enrique Iglesias, Christina Aguilera, Ne-Yo, and Jennifer Lopez as they’ve all assisted or been assisted by the hit-making Latino rapper over the past two years.

Now, in co-star Ke$ha, the pop emcee has found a new chart-topper in ‘Timber’ as reports surfaced today the tune is set to hit #1 upon the Billboard Hot 100’s forthcoming refreshing tomorrow.

Ousting 4-week champions Eminem & Rihanna‘s ‘Monster’ out of the top spot, ‘Timber’s ascension comes after weeks of playing second fiddle to the second rap-pop combo from Em & Ri – the follow-up to 2010’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’.  But, will Pit and Ke$h’s run atop the tally be short-lived?

If you ask Katy Perry & Juicy J, the answer may soon be “yes”…

‘Started From the Bottom’ beau Drake started a polarizing war of fans last year when he revealed plans of creating a posthumous album filled with some of the late R&B singer Aaliyah‘s unreleased tracks.

Earning a collective thumbs down from those closest to the fallen star (see: Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine, her family), the Torontoian rapper was still set to forge ahead with the project as Aaliyah’s label (run by uncle Barry Hankerson) did offer their approval.

Continued negative public reaction to the album – as recent as last month – had the album’s primary producer Noah “40” Shebib on the fence so much so that he, according to a recent interview with VIBE magazine, has called for Drake to halt the project…indefinitely.

Cop a gander of Beyonce!

The chart-topping megastar glimmers gold in this freshly unwrapped promo for her new fragrance ‘Rise’.

Set to arrive worldwide next month, the scent will reportedly be backed by a major promotional campaign – one that includes a TV commercial shot by famed director (and frequent King B collaborator) Jake Nava.

The pair’s lengthy list of past collaborations include last year’s Pepsi Commercial, the iconic clip for 2008’s ‘Single Ladies’, and more recently ‘Partition’ from the 32-year’s self-titled visual album. As such, fans are clearly in for a treat.

By no means “just another celebrity fragrance”, Bey’s foray into the world of perfume branding has been wildly successful.

‘Heat’, the star’s first effort, broke a Macy’s sales record with $75,000 in sales in one day. While the singer’s fragrance business has generated $400 million in retail sales. And with WWD reporting that industry insiders estimate ‘Rise’ could hit $25 million in its first year, the future certainly smells divine for the diva’s lucrative side-hustle.

Needless to say, that Beyonce reign just won’t let up!
