Contrary to popular belief, Mariah Carey remains one of Pop’s more competent vocalists, despite seeing her voice weathered by time and years of live singing.

Unfortunately, live singing was completely on her agenda today, when she performed on the ‘Today Show’ in support of her new LP ‘Me.I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse.’ 

Well, at least according to the show’s attendees. For, during her performance of her classic number ‘Always Be My Baby’, her crowd caught quite the surprise when “live vocals” that were transmitted to viewers at home did not “appear” on stage, seeing Mimi belt out…well…a number of “missing” notes.

Jennifer Lopez is gearing up to unleash her latest collection of jams on June 17th.

Christened ‘A.K.A’, the album serves as the diva’s 10th studio effort and is preceded by single s ‘I Luh Ya Papi’ and the fast rising ‘First Love’.

Joined by the ever-unemployed Melissa Forde, last night saw Rihanna rock the worlds of her fans when she debuted a bold and brave new hairstyle, inspired by ‘The Pink Print‘ beauty Nicki Minaj.

Indeed, in moving onto visual pastures new, Rihanna debuted a bright pink hairdo at last night’s Oklahoma City Thunder vs Los Angeles Clippers game, before the release of her eighth studio album.

Quite interestingly, after citing the ‘Super Bass’ rapper as the inspiration behind the new look, Fenty saw hairstylist to the stars Terrence Davidson take to ‘Instagram’ to claim some responsibility for the look….after filing a $30 million lawsuit against Minaj for “stealing” his signature designs.

Diva supreme Mariah Carey kicked off the live campaign for new album ‘Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse’ moments ago on the Today Show Summer Concert Series.

Backed by a full band and army of dancers, the 44-year-old delivered performances of  chart-toppers ‘Touch My Body’ and ‘Always Be My Baby’, as well as new song ‘You Don’t Know What To Do’. Disco inspired, the latter saw the star joined by rapper Wale.

As with all Mimi showings, a mixture of live and studio vocals, as well as many a “festive” moment await after the jump…

Jay Z‘s cognac ‘D’usse’ finds a new friend in rapper Lil Wayne this month, honoured with its very own number recorded by dreadlocked mogul!

Produced by Lee Majors, the song serves just a little of what fans will find on his forthcoming LP ‘Tha Carter V’, dropping this year alongside LPs to be launched by Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Lady GaGa and ‘Get Together’ singer Solange.
