For all their lush colours and epic backdrops, Lady GaGa music videos tend to marvel and confuse in equal measure.

The star’s latest, ‘G.U.Y’, is no exception. For while the short-film has taken the industry by storm since landing two days ago (a period in which it has racked up over 10 million views), it’s left some fans and critics scratching their heads.

Alas, there’s no need to fret.

Mother Monster stopped by Sirus XM Radio today to promote the ‘ARTPOP’ clip, sharing fresh insight into its concept.

An interesting watch, we must say.

When she hit the scene in 2008, Lady GaGa credited ‘Lonely’ singer Akon for being instrumental in her rise from underground artiste to chart-scorching debutante.

Joined at the hip during the promotional campaign for her debut album ‘The Fame‘ and its lead single ‘Just Dance’, the years that followed saw the ‘Konvict‘ creator fade into this distance as the ‘Paparazzi’ singer became the global force we now know her to be today.

This week, Akon has detailed the demise of their business relationship, explaining why he ‘sold his share’ once he believed she had peaked.

Having rocked the net this weekend with the video for new single ‘G.U.Y’, Pop force Lady GaGa has unveiled the cut’s accompanying artwork.

Following the vein of previous ‘ARTPOP’ singles (pours out a little liquor for ‘Do What U Want’ With Ma Bodeh), the cover boasts a polaroid effect – which this time houses a snap from the song’s epic visual.

If you thought that little Drake/“Rolling Stone” debacle was over, think again.

Indeed, a month after the Torontoian hitmaker shared with the magazine his thoughts on Jay Z‘s “corny” bars, the “Excuse Me Miss” rapper drops a response via his verse on Jay Electronica‘s new tune ‘We Made It’.

See Drake’s full quote here, then hear Jay’s rebuttal below:

“It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references.  I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole Rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”  – Drake, via Rolling Stone
