Miley Cyrus launches her official foray into Pop-Urban today with the premiere of new single ‘We Can’t Stop’.

Produced by hard-hitting heavyweight Mike Will (Rihanna’s ‘Pour It Up’), the cut is a marked departure from the former Hannah Montana star’s squeaky-clean Pop past. And while it’s yet to be seen how the masses react to the 20-year-old’s reincarnation, a  who’s who of Urban music have lined up to work on ‘Stop’s parent album – including Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy.

Beyonce enjoyed a little downtime in NYC last night, arriving a movie theatre with husband Jay Z hours after dominating Chime For Change‘s ‘Sound Of Change‘.

Casually dressed and sans their daughter Blue Ivy, the game changing couple were snapped as positive reviews from their ‘Change‘ set poured in, praising Bey for her fun filled yet empowering set and Jay‘s surprise appearance.

It’s the hottest time of the year (in more ways than one) as some of Urban music’s biggest name flock to Jersey for the annual Hot 97 Summer Jam megafest.  This year’s bill sees names like Beyonce and Jay Z spectate from the audience as Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Miguel, Mariah Carey, and so many more on hand to take the Met Life Stadium stage to share live renditions of their latest hits.

Let’s face it, while the likes of Beyonce and Lady GaGa have seen their stars rise on the back of their undeniable talent, Rihanna has seen her brand soar on the back of marketing tactics employed by the geniuses that oversee her career.

Indeed, much like an empty vase Brand Rihanna is impressive at face value but a little disappointing when one scratches at the surface to find there is nothing there. No vocal skill, no real credentials as a writer and absolutely nothing to say as a live act.

Alas, thanks to notes pulled from the Mathew Knowles School of Star Making, Camp Riri have succeeded in turning the star’s fish sticks into Caviar…making her Pop’s most reliable chart topper.
