Messy. Indeed, few other words can accurately relay the drama that has engulfed Aaliyah‘s first posthumous album.

From the outset, debate has raged on about the proposed set – reaching feverish degrees upon the release of Drake‘s collaboration with the late singer, ‘Enough Said’.

Today, however, sees the story take an ultra dramatic turn; for Aaliyah’s musical moulders Missy Elliot and Timbaland have confirmed that they will have no involvement in the project.

It’s an announcent which auto-invalidates claims by the label releasing the album – Blackground, which is owned by the fallen star’s uncle Barry Hankerson.

Christmas has come all sorts of early for John Legend fans.

The Soulful crooner hasn’t released a traditional album since 2008’s ‘Evolver’ and hasn’t released a well-received LP since ‘Once Again’ in 2006. Still, for many, his debut ‘Get Lifted’ serves as his definitive “best” effort yet.

Hence, perhaps realizing this (and the fact that time and the industry wait for no one), Legend has enlisted the team responsible for ‘Lifted’ to craft his 4th studio album – the title of which he revealed today.

We love us a legend here at That Grape Juice, hence it pains us to see the talented going through testing times.

Case, point Lauryn Hill.

As previously reported, the Fugees front-woman is currently awaiting sentencing, after admitting tax evasion (albeit with with a bizarre rationale). Now, as she prepares to hear her fate this November, the mugshot from her June police booking has surfaced.

Echoing earlier sentiments, we wish her the absolute best. Sadly, as history has shown time in and out, the most talented are often the most troubled. We continue to keep Ms. Hill in our thoughts and prayers. Like many, we’re still salivating for that new album.

However, as we’re sure many of her fans will attest to, recent years have seen the Grammy sharer’s shine stifled by controversies- the feuds, the jail sentence, the ghostwriting…the cosmetic surgery.

So last week, out of concern for the Rap veteran, a member of her fan base ‘Team Kim’ expressed their concerns over the star by way of an email sent to That Grape Juice. Net.

Now, following its publication, the MC’s fan base has weighed in on the situation on the social networking site Twitter.
