For a group who flourished in the 00’s, it’s sure does feel like an eternity since the words Pussycat Dolls actually meant anything.

Indeed, towards the end of their run, the quintet’s music struggled to chart, while band-members fled like the plague, and lead singer Nicole Schezinger continued to peddle her solo career. Needless to say, combustion was more a case of ‘when’ than ‘if’, with the ladies eventually going on “hiatus” in 2009.

Some hiatus that was, for the group are back – with all new faces.

PCD creator Robin Antin has assembled the new line-up with hope they can replicate the success of their predecessors. Peep the new faces above, by way of Perez Hilton. Little is known about the scantly clad six as at writing. However, all is reportedly set to be unveiled shortly.

Putting aside’s Ms. Antin’s adamance on pushing this “concept” (see: PCD, Girlicious, Paradiso Girls), it sure will be interesting to see how this plays out.

For, immediate thinking suggests the the group’s formula is as dated as VHS. Still, as the saying goes, anything can happen.

R&B belle Ashanti raised many eye-brow last week when she took crack at a number of Whitney Houston classics as part of a tribute to the man penned them – David Foster.

And, almost as if a challenge, the ‘Rock With U’ singer this week performed the iconic ballad medley once again (despite these being songs even the most gifted of voices daren’t touch).

Her showing, this time, was in Manila as part of the ‘David Foster & Friends Asian Tour’.

R&B bad boy Chris Brown has fans in a frenzy over ‘Fortune’ – the highly anticipated followup to his 2011 acclaimed ‘F.A.M.E.’ album.  Though still jetting across stages with fellow top acts in support of the latter, news has now surfaced the ‘Gimme Dat’ singer is giving his faithful fans some info on the upcoming project.

Fans are undoubtedly on pins and needles as the days draw nearer to the premiere of season 2 of WeTV’s hit reality show ‘Braxton Family Values’.  Led by Grammy winning/multiplatinum songstress Toni Braxton, the show is bringing viewers in for another drama-filled season of laughs, fights, dot coms, and, of course, music.

R&B vixen Ameriie was spotted out with husband/manager Lenny Richardson yesterday in Beverly Hills shopping and sight-seeing.  The ‘1 Thing’ hitmaker, who reportedly has her sights on a new LP and accompanying tour, is said to be readying fans for the release of her forthcoming LP ‘Cymatika Vol. 1’.

While it’s lead single, ‘Fire Starter’, was pushed back from its original summer 2011 release, the songstress is still eyeing a spring 2012 unveiling of its parent album.

Signed to his label Young Money Entertainment,  the songbird’s debut album ‘Pink Friday‘ has now sold 2 million copies worldwide, scored her a Grammy nomination and  spawned the smash hits ‘Check It Out‘ and ‘SuperBass‘.
