R&B/Pop phenom Usher is set to release an extension to his platinum-selling ‘Raymond vs Raymond’ later this year. The record, entitled ‘Versus’, will contain 8 new songs and will hit stores on August 24th. Interestingly, the deluxe edition of ‘Raymond vs Raymond’, which will feature contributions from rapper Bun B and producer Polow Da Don, is due to be released on the same day. The 1st single to be lifted from ‘Versus’ will be the Max Martin-produced ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love (Ft. Pitbull)’. {Source}

Pop diva Christina Aguilera was spotted out about in Beverly Hills earlier this week, rocking a more demure look. It marks the first time the 29 year old has been seen in public since her latest album ‘Bionic’ tanked on the Billboard charts – despite a huge promotional push.

Word has it the album is performing better in other non-US territories. However many have labelled the record (which ironically is rather solid) an undeniable flop – based on the fact that her promotional efforts were almost exclusively geared at the US (her biggest market).

Worse still for Aguilera’s fans, it appears as though the ‘Not Myself Tonight’ singer is shifting her focus to new movie ‘Burlesque’. For she’s been quietly doing the promo rounds  for the film, recently chatting it up with USA Today – yet with no mention of the album in any capacity. Perhaps the mother of one and her team are hoping that if they move onto the film project with the swiftness, folk will forget ‘Bionic’ ever existed. Sad thing is, I think they have already.

In any case, it’ll be interesting to see what Ms. Aguilera’s next musical move is. Rush out a new album? Take ANOTHER 4 years off? Who knows…time will tell.

Chris Brown broke the news to his fans early this morning that he is currently working on a new project with singer Keyshia Cole. There is no word as to whether the duo were working on something for Brown’s next studio release or Cole’s album which will hit stores later this year. Last month, That Grape Juice reported that Brown has logged some studio time with Young Money rapper Drake.

While many might be confused about how a Brown/Cole collaboration will sound, they simply have to reflect on what he did with Tank on the song ‘Take My Time’ from his under-appreciated ‘Graffiti’ album. Brown is a versatile artist and while his technique is a bit rough, he certainly has a lot of potential for growth unlike certain other acts who are currently popular on the charts.
