The highly anticipated video for Janet Jackson’s new single ‘Feedback’ premiered tonight on Yahoo Launch. Check it out:

What can I say other than, Janet is back! Let’s get the nitty gritty out the way first; the vid seemed a little too dark (which I’m hoping is due to the internet) and the special effects were a little hit and miss in places. Saying this, everything else was on-point – very on-point. Continuing the Jackson trend of being an innovator of the video form, Janet really stepped out of the box with this video’s concept and it really works. The choreography was great too – especially the dance break at the bridge and the part at the end. All in all, Janet brought her ‘A Game’ with this video – proving exactly why she should never be counted out. ‘Discipline’, Janet’s brand new album, hits stores February 26th.

Check out this behind the scenes look at Timbaland’s new video ‘Scream’, which features Nicole Scherzinger and Keri Hilson:

I’m real psyched about this song getting the single treatment. I’ve long been a fan of the track since hearing Timbo’s ‘Shock Value’ LP. On a side note, that has to be the most personality the oft-wooden Nicole Scherzinger has shown on camera before…a refreshing change. Be on the look out for the video in weeks ahead.

Sean Paul It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything from Jamaican crossover star Sean Paul. A stalled attempt at returning to the limelight last year came in the form of ‘Watch Dem Roll’, yet things kinda went quiet after that.
This new track titled ‘Pepperpot’ is slated to feature on Sean’s forthcoming LP, the follow-up to 2005’s Platinum certified ‘The Trinity’. I’m kinda on the fence about this one; it’s an easy on the ear, summer sounding track. Saying that, it doesn’t really have that ‘ummph’ that his previous singles have had, leaving me wondering how his album will fare if this is what it has to offer.

Mary J. Blige Covers VIBEContinuing the along the promo trail for her new album ‘Growing Pains’, Mary J. Blige appears on the cover of VIBE magazine’s February issue. She’s looking good, which is just as well for the folk over at VIBE. Back in 2005 Mary called the magazine out for not making her right on her cover for them back then.

Faith Evans It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Faith Evans. Following the ‘so-so’ performance of her last album ‘The First Lady’ (great album IMO), she has kind of stepped away from the limelight – baring in mind she had another child.
Anyway, this unreleased Neptunes produced track ‘Maybe’ has surfaced and has wet my appetite for Faith’s new material. It’s unknown whether the song is from her new album – about which very little is known – or a cut from her previous LP. Still, I’m feeling this; it has a real 90’s throwback – vintage Faith – vibe to it. Here’s hoping she drops a fresh material sooner rather than later. {Thanks L.A. Thompson}

Mariah CareySuperstar diva Mariah Carey appearently had the following to say about a possible duet between her and Jennifer Lopez:

“I’d rather be on stage with a pig — a duet with Jennifer Lopez and me just ain’t going to happen.”
{Source}

LMAO if she actually said this. In the past, Mariah has made no secret of the fact that she’s no fan of J.Lo; and reading that quote reminded me of this:

Nas - XXL Magazine

Rapper Nas features on the cover of the March issue of XXL magazine. Nas, real name Nasir Jones, is currently prepping the release of his already-controversial album ‘N*gger’ (due later this year).

Check out this preview of Janet Jackson’s new video for ‘Feedback’ which aired on BET’s 106 & Park today:

It was confirmed on today’s episode of 106 & Park that much anticipated video will be premiering tomorrow (January 8th) on the show. Don’t miss it.

The King of Pop - Michael JacksonMichael Jackson is set to earn millions by playing a series of concerts at London’s 02 Arena this year, according to numerous reports.
The UK’s ‘News of The World’ reports that Jackson has been tapped to play 30 shows at the venue – formerly the Millennium Dome – pocketing a whopping £30 million in the process. As of now, the official word – as per Jackson’s publicist/general manager Raymone Bain – is that ‘Discussions are continuing but nothing has been finalized at this time.’ However, other sources (including the venue’s reps) insist the shows will take place and an announcement is imminent.
Having attended the World Music Awards here in London back in 2006, I saw firsthand that there is nothing like seeing the King of Pop in the flesh. I most definitely will be snapping up tickets for this.

Singer/songwriter Keri Hilson appears on the cover of latest issue of The Fader magazine. With the great success Keri enjoyed in 2007, having featured on the chart-topping ‘The Way I Are’ with Timbaland and writing Britney’s ‘Gimme More’, she is set to take center stage as an artist this year. I’ve been waiting on Keri’s project for a couple of years now, so I’m definitely anxious to see if she delivers. Anyway, you can read her great feature in the magazine by picking it up at the newsstands (it’s available now) or downloading the issue online over at The Fader website.

What do you think of the cover?
Donnie - Making The Band 4With new material from the Making The Band winners surfacing recently, it only seems apt for a taste of Donnie’s offerings also. Donnie, if you remember, didn’t make the final cut for the band last season, however was signed up by Diddy as a solo artist.
For the most part, I think ‘So Beautiful’ is a pretty solid (sounding) track. This mid-tempo production compliments Donnie’s voice well. My only gripe is the song’s lyrics, which range from pretty engaging to infantile and laced with cliche’s. Still, it’s promising.

Michelle Williams Check out the blog entry former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams made on her official MySpace, in which she sheds light on her forthcoming album’s first single etc:

I’m gonna be honest I didnt leak nor can I tell you who did even if my life depended on it!! Thank y’all so much for embracing it!! It’s truly a different song for me!!!
