Saweetie is hitting back at the sour response to sales of her new EP ‘The Single Life.’
Announced with less than a day’s notice, the six-track set arrived as a bridge of sorts to the rapper’s long-awaited album debut ‘Pretty B*tch Music.’
As can be the case with “surprise” sets (and similar), it appears the lack of heads-up may have been the cause of the project’s less-than-stellar sales. Indeed, it’s believed the project only shifted 2000 units in the US first week.
The numbers (or lack thereof) sparked debut in earnest on social media – with everyone from fans to Joe Budden to fellow artists weighing in.
Now, Saweetie is offering her two cents.

Candiace Dillard continues to pour out fresh material and her latest effort, ‘Insecure,’ sees her team up with Trina.
The ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star has been making solid strides with tracks such as ‘Drive Back’ and its housing album ‘Deep Space.’ And the trajectory continues with her newest number – which leads the incoming deluxe edition of her LP.
On the melodic duet, Candiace and Trina take aim at a problematic protagonist who lives up to the title of the track.

Greatness doesn’t die, it lives on and inspires. Case in point, the inimitable Jimi Hendrix.
The superstar, who died in 1970 aged just 27, would have turned 80 this week.
To commemorate the occasion and his ever-enduring legacy, Pop star Zayn was enlisted to put his unique spin on the icon’s song ‘Angel.’
Revealing that it was a special request to honor the icon, the former One Direction singer said:
Being asked to collaborate to celebrate Jimi Hendrix 80th birthday was such an unexpected and huge honour. I have so much respect and admiration for Jimi, his music and fans. ‘Angel’ is out now – hope you love the track as much as I do. Happy 80th Jimi.”
