Houston born hottie Megan Thee Stallion has been riding high on a wave of success for most of the year, a feat underscored by the critical acclaim that’s accompanied her latest project, ‘Fever.’  To ensure such good tiding doesn’t slow any time soon, the 24-year-old’s tapped legendary music video director Hype Williams to helm her new musical film, ‘Fever:  Thee Movie.’

It’s that time of year!

The BET Hip-Hop Awards 2023 are around the corner. As such, nominations for the hotly anticipated ceremony have been unveiled.

Cardi B and 21 Savage jointly lead with a whopping 12 nods each. Drake follows with 9.

Other notable names who scored multiple nominations include Burna Boy and DJ Khaled (7 apiece), J. Cole (6), and Jay-Z, GloRilla, and Coi Leray (all of whom nabbed 5).

This year’s installment of the show takes place in Atlanta, GA on October 3 and airs on October 10 on BET at 9pm ET/PT.

Speaking on the nods, Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy for BET said in a statement:

“This year’s ‘BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our year-long celebration of hip hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion. We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of Hip-Hop into the future. We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments as they take Hip-Hop artistry to new heights.”

In 2021, Dua Lipa watched her ‘Future Nostalgia‘ hit ‘Levitating‘ live up to its namesake on the Hot 100 when it soared into Billboard history books for becoming the longest-running top 10 hit ever by a female artist.

And while that unprecedented chart triumph got its fair share of laud from fans and admirers alike, there have been a few who have withheld applause – namely those who have attempted to take the GRAMMY winner to court on allegations of copyright infringement.

Just two months after learning the second case of that ilk was dismissed by a U.S. District Judge, another multimillion-dollar claim against the Stephen Kozmeniuk and Stuart Price-produced bop has arisen.
