Despite execs at Warner Bros. giving a remake of Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner‘s 1992 film, ‘The Bodyguard,’ two thumbs up (as we reported here), fans of the ‘I Will Always Love You’ diva have been everything except in love with the announcement.

Taking to Twitter in droves, commenters slammed the news – with some arguing its untouchable soundtrack couldn’t be replicated while others cited Houston and Costner’s on-screen chemistry as the reason the classic movie shouldn’t be updated.

As the debate raged on about the forthcoming, Matthew Lopez-penned reboot, our friends at TMZ caught up with the late Pop icon’s ex-husband Bobby Brown for his two cents on the matter.  His response came as a surprise to no one.

Don Lemon has got to be feeling sour as he takes a look at his Twitter mentions, even days after the drama between he and Rap Queen Nicki Minaj reached a boiling point.

As has been reported all week, Minaj has been in the center of global criticism due to her stance on the COVID-19 vaccine – a stance, mind you, that’s earned detraction from fellow celebrities, public health leaders, political figures, and many more.

While social analysts have been taking to their respective platforms to debate the matter (namely Nicki’s comments about stalling on getting the vaccine until she does ‘more research’), Lemon – a longtime anchor for CNN – turned heads when he said:

“The people talking about, ‘I don’t know what’s in the shot’ … You know what they get shots in nowadays? In their rear ends, they’re getting shots to make it bigger. They’re getting shots in their face. They don’t know what’s in Botox. You don’t have to listen to a minority of people who are being harmful to the greater good and who are not acting on logic, reason, and science.”

Needless to say, once the commentary got to the GRAMMY nominee’s desk she responded with an epic roast.  What’s more, her fans – affectionately called Barbz – are continuing what she started.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Jonas Brothers, Majid Jordan, The War On Drugs, and Alec Benjamin.

The song is the latest release from the music superstar as she re-records her discography after losing the rights to her masters.

Previously, she released her acclaimed Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’ in April. Now, she is gearing up to release her next re-recorded album, the fan favorite ‘RED,’ which is due out November 19 (as we reported here).

It is worth noting that despite the release of ‘Wildest Dreams,’ there is no current word about ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version).’

Lil Nas X‘s debut album ‘Montero’ arrived today to rapturous applause from fans and critics alike.

Led by chart-topper ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ and follow-up smash ‘Industry Baby,’ the set has been supported by what has been deemed one of the most well-executed marketing campaigns in recent memory.

Indeed, the set’s infectious music has been paired with high-octane performances and Nas’ quirky use of social media – which he has cleverly used as a potent promotional tool.

The masses have watched on and marveled as the performer played up being “pregnant” with the long-awaited LP. Each stage – from the announcement to the baby shower to the labor and delivery all were comically chronicled.

All, it seems, has created the perfect storm of buzz around the project.
