Over the weekend, comedy veteran Anthony Anderson took to press to say he was ready for his longtime losing streak with the Television Academy to come to an end.
“I was ready for the nomination streak to end a long time ago. This is the 7th nomination. 11 total, but yeah I’m done with the nomination part,” Anderson said Friday (September 17). “I’ll be honest. It’s time for a win.”
He may have later added he would ‘lose his mind’ if he finally nabbed a golden statuette, Sunday night’s EMMY Awards did indeed bring Anthony a loss – but it wasn’t his mind. Much to the chagrin of fans of his hit ABC series, ‘Black-ish’ (which recently announced it will end with its next season), the 51-year-old is going home empty-handed yet again.
