Expect to see much of stageblazing Urban pop songstress Tinashe as she drives the promo trail in support of her brand spanking new album, ‘Joyride.’

Released April 13, the project – the long-awaited follow-up to her 2014 debut ‘Aquarius’ – is preceded by the French Montana & Ty Dolla Sign-assisted ‘Me So Bad,’ the Future-enlisted ‘Faded Love,’ and, of course, the bumping ‘No Drama,’ featuring Offset.

Having already blazed morning television with a solo live rendition of the cut (click here to watch), T tapped the Migos star to help with bringing the Stargate-produced song to late nite TV.  Curious how they fared?

Hear and see it here:

With little over a week to go before Tinashe releases sophomore album ‘Joyride,’ the singer is reflecting on her roller-coaster journey.

It’s been far from plain sailing for the R&B star who has actively been trying to get the project off the ground for almost three years.

In a new interview with CR Fashion Book, she keeps it all sorts of real about the hurdles she encountered and even admitted to – at times – not being in the driving seat of the campaign.

She also seized the moment to clarify last year’s comments on colorism that saw many hit back at her.

It’s undoubtedly a good time to be Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe (better known mononymously as “Tinashe”). The songstress, who after a 3 year wait has finally put an official release date on her long-awaited sophomore LP, ‘Joyride,’ is celebrating the professional triumph alongside a personal victory.

As we reported here, Kachingwe – notoriously mum about her private life – recently went public with NBA boyfriend Ben Simmons (of the Philadelphia 76ers).  If that good news is not enough, fans recently learned ‘Me So Bad’ – the final song of the trio of releases announced in January to precede ‘Joyride’s release (click here to read more on that) – is set for unveiling this week!

It looks like Cardi B fans won’t be the only ones getting their hands on a long-awaited project in April.

After three years of false starts, revamps, and promises of “it’s coming soon,” stage-blazing songstress Tinashe has finally revealed her long-awaited sophomore album, ‘Joyride,’ is set to hit shelves next month.

The set, originally entrusted to the powers of Pop’s leading producers – Max Martin, Dr. Luke, and more [click here to read more on that] – is apparently taking a more Hip-Hop/R&B-leaning route after the critical success of new singles ‘No Drama’ & ‘Faded Love’ featuring rappers Offset (of Migos) and Future respectively.

Now, as fans grow impatient to get their hands on the material, T’s finally lifted the lid on release date news:

Fans of the Pop starlet Tinashe find themselves dazed and confused this week after learning that the singer was turned away at the door by a party thrown by the chart-scorching & loveable star Rihanna.

A surprising story awaits below…

The wait for Tinashe‘s much delayed sophomore album has been anything but a ‘Joyride’ for fans of the singer.

Talk of the set’s arrival dates back to 2015. Yet, what has followed has been a succession of “lead” singles that have ultimately led to incessant push-backs. So much so that its current status is quite the conundrum.

However, in a new interview with The Guardian, the ‘Flame’ belter provided an update. One we’re not sure will be entirely thrilling for fans but is an update nonetheless.

She told the British publication:

“Things haven’t always gone according to my original plan, but that’s life, and things change.”

It’s not like it’s sitting in a vault locked up, it’s always getting better and improving. I plan on doing a solid few more months recording then hopefully getting it out this year.”

She also addressed rampant rumors that Rihanna had pouched the actual track ‘Joyride’ in the midst of the delays. Interestingly she verified the speculation. She said:

Yeah, that’s true. But I don’t know if it was personally Rihanna, like, ‘I’m taking that from Tinashe.’ I don’t think that’s how it worked. But it’s back now.”

***************

It’s unfortunate that there still seems to be so much uncertainty surrounding the set.

Without being privy to the specifics of the drama, our primary observation is the lack of consistency in the sound of the songs released thus far.

Indeed, when listening to tracks such as ‘Super Love’ and ‘Flame,’ it appears the “plan” is to birth music’s next big “Pop girl.”

Yet, when sandwiching edgier, left-leaning offerings such as ‘Party Favors’ and the ‘Nightride’ mixtape between her Pop-ier releases, it becomes quite confusing to ascertain what her core proposition is.

Sure she’s incredibly versatile, but at such an early stage of her career that can actually be problematic in that it makes it hard to package her in a way that is both consistent and palatable to her eventual audience.

And while some will argue about the unfairness of artists being “boxed” or confined to lanes, the harsh reality is that that is quite literally “how it is” for the vast majority. Unfortunately.

Hopefully, Tinashe and her team hone in on the best positioning for her, stick to it, and achieve the success her talent deserves.

It’s here!

Tinashe has unleashed the video for ‘Flame’ – the latest video to be lifted from her long awaited sophomore album ‘Joyride.’

The clip sees the 24-year-old flex her acting muscles as she plays out the narrative of a love story gone wrong.

Can the visual help ignite the track’s on the charts? Watch below and let us know…

A solid video for a solid song.

It remains to be seen, though, whether it’ll be enough to catapult Ms. Kachingwe to where she “should” be.

Tinashe showcased her talent to millions across the globe moments ago when she took to the ring to perform at WWE Wrestlemania 33.

The starlet kicked off the Orlando spectacle, renown for being the Superbowl of wrestling, with a spirited rendition of ‘America The Beautiful.’

Notable for ability to dance up a storm, the 24-year-old traded the choreography for vocal theatrics.

Watch her take flight after the jump…
