Before you know it awards season will be in full swing.

Probably our favorite time of year here at TGJ HQ, we were ever-excited to learn of the Soul Train Awards committee unveiling the nominations for their 2014 showing.

Featuring heavy competition from the year’s best and brightest in Hip Hop and R&B, TGJ favorites Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Beyonce are leading the pack of nominees for the ceremony.

Set to be hosted by ‘Queen of All Media’ Wendy Williams, the show will be taped at the Las Vegas Orleans Arena on November 7 then air on Centric and BET on November 30th (8p/7p CST).

Talk about a red hot performance!

Fans of R&B hitmaker Chris Brown are still chatting about the stageblazer’s recent showing at ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.’

After delivering an emotional rendition of ‘X,’ the title track to his September 16th-due new album, Breezy broke into an energetic showing of his latest top 10 hit ‘Loyal.’  With no signs of slowing, the visit comes as the Grammy winner’s latest stop aboard the promo trail in support of his newest project.

 #TeamBreezy may have thought the video for Chris Brown‘s ‘Don’t Be Gone Too Long,’ featuring pop princess Ariana Grande, was locked in a vault after being placed on hold due to his prison stint.  Well, the cinematic clip has finally surfaced in full and we couldn’t be more pleased.

The medieval-themed clip, directed by Brown, shows the chart-toppers in quite the “Romeo & Juliet”-inspired visual and showing off a must-see chemistry.

While the version on Chris’s September 16th-due new album ‘X’ is sans-Grande, we’re sure that with enough push from radio and fans alike, this ever-worthy tune could make its way to “single” status. See it below:

‘X’ marks the spot for Chris Brown!

The Urban-Pop hitmaker is readying sixth album of the same name for release on September 16th and so as to amplify buzz has debuted its title track.

Produced by Diplo, the track follows ‘New Flame (featuring Usher & Rick Ross) as the latest number to be heard from the hotly anticipated set.

As reports indicate that he may spend the next month in jail, Chris Brown joins Tyga to tease the clip for the collaborative single, ‘Loyal’, also featuring ‘Ice’ star Lil Wayne.

Peaking at #35 on the ‘Billboard Hot 100′, the release of its video will come in aid of its supporting album ‘X’, still set for a May 5th 2014 release date.

So, with fans expecting the clip to drop this week, could Brown’s legal woes threaten to block its chances of hitting #1.

As far as Pop princes go, very few can say they ‘work the charts’ quite as hard as Chris Brown.

Celebrated for bringing life, Sun and soul to what’s occasionally been a dull party, Brown’s talent continues to push him far beyond the negativity that’s oft threatened to plague his Grammy-winning career.

However, we doubt even he could have anticipated the success of  ‘Love More’, the feel-good jam featuring Rap’s undisputed champ Nicki Minaj.
