A peek at the refreshed charts will undoubtedly give Megan Thee Stallion detractors a reason to cry thanks to the ongoing success of her latest single, ‘Cry Baby.’
10 weeks after its #71 debut on the Hot 100, the DaBaby-assisted bop – the latest from Stallion’s official debut album ‘Good News’ – has ushered in good news for Meg and co. Given a boost in streams and digital downloads courtesy of its ‘Toy Story’-inspired, Colin Tilley-directed music video (which helped spur a Tik Tok dance challenge), ‘Cry’ cruised into the Hot 100’s top 40 for the first time after a 15-spot jump saw it dock at #28.
Its arrival marks the 10th time the GRAMMY nominee has visited the chart territory, a full circle moment as her first top 40 hit came courtesy of 2019 smash ‘Cash Sh*t‘ (featuring DaBaby). For him, on the other hand, it’s the 16th time he’s landed in the top 40.
