Jussie Smollett is turning the volume up.
The ‘Empire’ actor has spent three years embroiled in a mucky legal mess after being charged, convicted, and ultimately jailed for faking a hate attack in 2019.
Now, following his surprise release pending an appeal, the star is attempting to re-affix the focus on his craft. Namely his critically acclaimed directorial debut, ‘B-Boy Blues’ – which is currently streaming on BET+.
In a move few could have foreseen, Smollett has hit the promotional trail. And his first stop was Sway in the Morning.
The lengthy sit-down saw Smollett – who turned 40 today – maintain his innocence, share how his experience allowed him to “see the snakes in the grass,” talk ‘B-Boy Blues,’ and much more.
