Once projected to be ASAP Ferg‘s first top 5 hit (as we reported here), ‘Move Ya Hips’ – the rapper’s reunion single with Nicki Minaj – has seemingly been making all the wrong moves since its July 30 premiere.

Debuting at #19 on the Hot 100 (as we reported here), fans of Minaj – affectionately called #Barbz –  asserted ASAP was to blame for the modest opening due to his team failing to report web site sales of the tune.

While that claim has been unsubstantiated, it didn’t stop Ferg from being the brunt of their criticism.  Undoubtedly, that judgment will heighten once #Barbz take a look at the newly printed Hot 100.

As she proclaimed in her 2006 top 10 hit, ‘Get Up’ – ‘Ciara‘s on your radio, everybody turn it up!’

The GRAMMY-winning diva has been placing R&B hits on radio stations around the world for over 15 years and now, thanks to a recently announced partnership with Apple Music, she’ll be spinning them as a jockey.

In a venture titled ‘Level Up Radio’ (a nod to her 2018 hit ‘Level Up’), the multi-hyphenate star has been tapped to host a show centered on the ‘examination of R&B’s cultural impact and evolution’ that will not only highlight today’s top tunes of the genre but also see her reflect on her experiences as one of its modern leaders.

Kim Kardashian-West is using her platform once again to shine light on failures of the U.S. criminal justice system, this time joining the fight to help free C-Murder (born Corey Miller) from imprisonment.

The brother of Master P, Corey – who was controversially sentenced to life in prison following the 2002 shooting death of a 16-year-old – saw his heart-wrenching story told in greater detail courtesy of BET’s warmly received 5-part documentary ‘No Limit Chronicles’ (which aired earlier this month).  Despite multiple appeals and two key witnesses recanting their stories (alleging they were pressured by police to identify Corey as the shooter), he is still serving the sentence.

Kardashian-West, alongside GRAMMY-winning singer Monica (who is Corey’s former-girlfriend), made headlines this week for teaming together to work toward his release.  In a show of appreciation, the No Limit rapper took to social media to acknowledge their efforts.

If the Billboard Hot 100 thought 2019 was a buzzing year for female rappers, 2020 is taking things to an even higher level.

As we reported here, ‘WAP’ – an all-female Rap collaboration (Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion) – sits atop the tally for the first time in history.  As if that’s not enough, hits from the likes of Saweetie (‘Tap In’), Stallion (‘Savage’ and ‘Girls in the Hood’), Doja Cat (‘Say So’ and ‘Like That’), Nicki Minaj (‘Say So’ and ‘Move Ya Hips’), and others are spotted in various positions along the hit list.

Among the new class making noise is RCA Records rapstress Mulatto.

First garnering national attention as the winner of Lifetime’s reality music competition ‘The Rap Game,’ her rise to prominence began with her breakthrough single, ‘B*tch from Da Souf’ (which was later remixed with Saweetie and Trina).

Just days after being named one of only 2 female rappers included in XXL’s coveted ‘Freshman Class’ list for 2020, the femcee (born Alyssa Stephens) learned ‘Souf’ was certified Gold by the RIAA this week and had cracked the Hot 100 for the first time.
