Actress Jurnee Smollett has broken her silence about the ongoing legal woes of her actor-singer brother Jussie Smollett stemming from his 2019 allegedly self-inflicted hate attack.

In addition to learning his countersuit against the city of Chicago for ‘malicious prosecution’ was tossed out by a federal judge (click here to read more), he is readying a return to court to defend himself against six felony counts of charges related to disorderly conduct and filing false police reports.

Now, Jurnee is offering views into her thoughts about the process and why she stands in solidarity with the embattled ‘Empire’ star.

Thursday (August 6), nearly a week after promising to do so, President Donald Trump signed executive orders that would ban the popular social media platform TikTok in the United States in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies (namely ByteDance).

If he thought American execs at TikTok would let go of the multi-billion dollar business without a fight, he’s sadly mistaken.  According to reports, they’re ready to wage an all-out legal war to combat Trump’s order.

While most are enjoying the splash that was Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s racy ‘WAP’ video, CeeLo Green is not one of them.

Indeed, so unsettled by the scantily-clad nature of the clip, the Gnarls Barkley singer was moved to speak out about displays of sexuality by female rappers more broadly. A move that saw him muse on Nicki Minaj unfavourably too.

As we reported here, fans of Hulu’s Zoe Kravitz-led TV adaptation of the hit 2000 romantic comedy, ‘High Fidelity,’ were highly disappointed at news the series had been canceled after just one season.

Kravitz initial statement regarding the axing, which was delivered shortly after the news went to press last week, was cordial as she took to Instagram to state:

“i wanna give a shout out to my #highfidelity family. thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i’m in awe of all of you. and thank you o everyone who watched, loved and supported us. ✌🏽 #breakupssuck”

The sentiment seemingly changed, however, after the 31-year-old weighed in on the event again over the weekend.  See what she said below that still has tongues wagging:

Not even two months ago (as we reported here), executives at MTV confirmed the 2020 MTV VMAs would proceed as planned at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with an in-person audience.

Despite the ongoing global health crisis, the move would make the annual award show the first among like ceremonies to “return to normal” given the circumstances.

As the show’s August 30 premiere date looms, however, event organizers at Barclays and MTV have reassessed their initial decision and have announced an alternative.

Cardi B‘s ‘WAP,’ presumably the first official single from her highly anticipated, yet-titled sophomore album, has been getting praise aplenty from fellow celebrities and fans alike since its August 7th premiere.  Yet, there’s one person the GRAMMY winner shouldn’t expect a standing ovation from: CEO of Big Cat Rescue Carole Baskin.

The ‘Tiger King’ star was royally disappointed by the presentation of tigers, leopards, and jaguars in the Colin Tilley-directed video – even though they all appeared digitally.

Look inside to see why the big cat activist is actively giving the Megan Thee Stallion-assisted joint two thumbs down:
