Yet another new song from Dawn Richard’s upcoming ‘A Prelude To #ATELLTALEHEART’ mixtape has been released. It seems that there is some justice left in the world after all as Rihanna’s new video for ‘S&M’ has been partially banned. The visual was deemed “inappropriate” on YouTube and marked as “unsuitable” for viewers under the age of 18 years.

The real question that arises from this situation is if major television networks will give this video heavy airplay. Although Rihanna claims that the video has been approved by MTV, Ciara’s ‘Ride’ was completely banned on BET with far less sexually suggestive scenes, thus there is no justifiable reason why ‘S&M’ would avoid similar rejection.

How will Rihanna achieve success now? Without the ability to flash her colourful panties collection how will her team encourage consumers to pay attention to her ‘music’? On the bright side, her possible future as a model for Victoria’s Secret looks quite promising.

‘S&M’ must mean ‘Smoke & Mirrors’. Unfortunately for her, that shroud is finally being lifted. Rejoice!

4. Bittersweet – Fantasia

5. Hands Tied – Toni Braxton

Trent

2. O Come All Ye Faithful/Hallelujah Chorus – Mariah Carey (Ft. Patricia Carey)

3. I’m The Best – Nicki Minaj

4. Firework – Katy Perry

5. Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home) – Usher

What are your top 5 songs of the year?

The Holdiay sales rush is finally over and with so many crazed shoppers abound almost every artist emerged as a winner. However, no other Urban act won a spot higher on the consumers’ Christmas list than Michael Jackson.

The King of Pop’s ‘Michael’ album remains the only Urban release in the Billboard 200’s top 5, slipping from #3 to #5 with sales of 150k units. This figure represents only a 34% decrease in sales, allowing Jackson to accomplish a narrow lead ahead of Jamie Foxx’s ‘Best Night of My Life’ which debuts at #6 on the lineup with 144k copies sold.

Keyshia Cole enters the top 10 this week at #9 with ‘Calling All Hearts’ selling 128k units. Still, the R&B singer’s call didn’t sway enough hearts to help her to outperform Nicki Minaj and Eminem whose albums sold another 133k (down 36% to #8) and 137k (up 100% to #7) copies, respectively.

Keri Hilson, on the other hand, missed the top 10 completely. While her ‘No Boys Allowed’ sold 102k copies, managing to outsell previously released ‘In A Perfect World’ by over 8k units, it failed to keep up with Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ which grabbed the #10 position. The Bajan’s LP experienced a 33% increase in sales, selling another 111k copies.

There is no sign of Ciara’s ‘Basic Instinct‘ in the top 20. Let us take a minute to backbend in silence as we mourn its passing.
