Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, as our retrospective segments, ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay,’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind serves as a variation of our Retro Rewind assay to salute an entire era of music history.

This week, we will honor ‘For You I Will’Monica‘s hit single from the 1996 ‘Space Jam’ soundtrack.

Hype around Chris Brown and Young Thug‘s joint offering, the ‘Slime & B’ mixtape, came and went in a blink.

Released on the R&B singer’s 31st birthday (May 5), the 13-song set may have featured appearances from Hip-Hop heavyweights Gunna, Future, Too $hort, E-40, and more, but the absence of traditional promotion (as well as its unconventional Tuesday release) led to an abysmal #55 debut on the Billboard 200 – the lowest premiere of any Brown effort to date.

Although its inaugural positioning was powered by sales of approximately 13,000 SPS, the project fared better on the refreshed Billboard 200 as it enjoyed its first full tracking week.

Look inside to see just how many units it sold in week 2 and where it landed as a result:

With her forthcoming LP, ‘The Album,’ slated for a June release (as we reported here), Teyana Taylor is moving full speed ahead in its support by unveiling not one, but two songs from its tracklist.

Titled ‘Made It’ and ‘Bare Wit Me,’ the pair of bops have been given the video treatment under the directorial helm of Taylor herself.  As the former clip stands as an ode to the graduating Class of 2020 (who were deprived of a formal commencement this year due to the pandemic), the Janet Jackson-inspired latter combines elements of the Pop icon’s classic ‘Alright’ and ‘I Get So Lonely’ videos.

Tapping her basketballer husband Iman Shumpert to co-star, look inside for sexy ‘Bare’ and more inside:

Kesha‘s fourth album, ‘High Road,’ may be her first to lack a top 40 single to its credit, but that hasn’t stopped the GRAMMY-nominee from pressing forward in its promotion.

Having announced the cancellation of its supporting tour earlier this month (as we reported here), K’s kept her promotional jaunts to benefit specials and talk TV – her latest appearance coming courtesy of Tuesday’s episode of ‘Ellen’ (May 19).

Treating viewers to a stripped-back rendition of ‘Little Bit of Love,’ look inside to see her give the Nate Ruess, Wrabel and Stint-written cut the live treatment from the comfort of her home.

After Lana Del Rey called out Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Kehlani Doja Cat, and more for ‘wearing no clothes’ and ‘singing about f*cking’ in an open letter to address double standards she faces, she managed to piss off almost every major stan base in music simultaneously (click here to read more).

Needless to say, she endured a merciless dragging as a result – namely from the fan bases of Minaj (#Barbz) and Bey (#Beyhive) who asserted Del Rey’s comments were race-driven due to the dearth of White Pop divas listed in her rant.

As the hoopla continued to dominate headlines, the ‘Born to Die’ diva is looking to dead it by slamming accusations of racism.
