Welcome To The Latest
TGJ Roundtable!

Over the years, That Grape Juice has established a distinguished voice that – whether loved or loathed – sparks discussion, debate, and on occasion drama!

Though comprised of seasoned writers who share a similar outlook on Urban Pop culture, the idiosyncrasies of the TGJ team members often lend for quite heated debates “behind the scenes” about the hottest topics.

Now, we give you a front-row seat to the show. In a format similar to ‘The View’ or ‘The Real’, TGJ editors – Sam, Rashad, Joe, and Ryan – get real in a very candid way.

Today’s roundtable topic asks each anchor their thoughts on the…

Ahead of Mary J. Blige‘s co-headlining slot at Sunday’s Super Bowl Halftime Show (February 13), the Queen of Hip Hop Soul has already scored a touchdown with critics thanks to the February 11 release of her 15th studio album, ‘Good Morning Gorgeous.’

The glowing reviews of the 13-track set come in no small part to the positive reception of its first three singles – ‘Amazing’ (featuring DJ Khaled), its title track, and the Dave East-assisted ‘Rent Money.’

Related to the latter, Blige tapped famed video director Eif Rivera to bring the tune’s lyrics about the risk attached to romance to life in a dazzling casino-inspired music video.

Dropped the same day as its parent project, will the clip be just what’s needed to help the song win big on the charts?  Look inside to watch and let us know:

With her comeback single, ‘Do We Have a Problem,’ well on its way to a top 10 debut on next week’s Hot 100, Rap Queen Nicki Minaj looks to double her pleasure by unveiling yet another Lil Baby-assisted single – ‘Bussin.’

First previewed at the end of the music video for ‘Problem,’ the tune can now be heard in full and sees the 39-year-old forego modesty in favor of flaunting opulence.

“VVS is bu-bu-bussin’ / A** so fat, it’s bu-bu-bussin’ / Bags so full, it’s bu-bu-bussin’ / Drivin’ foreigns, bitches bussin’,” she spits on the DJ Tizz-produced bop.

Yet another taste of what her beloved fans, affectionately called #Barbz, can expect to hear on her yet-titled, forthcoming fifth studio album (due this year), hear ‘Bussin’ inside:

Janet Jackson is still riding high from reports her eponymous Lifetime documentary, a two-night TV event that aired Friday (January 28) and Saturday (January 29), racked up a historic 15 million viewers (as we reported here).

Instead of resting on her laurels, the Pop icon is continuing on the promo trail in its support.

Most recently spotted on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ Jackson beamed about the success of the event – even admitting she was afraid viewers would find it ‘boring.’

As social media reviews rolled in to suggest quite the contrary, the diva may soon be giving the Net something else to talk about:  new music.

Janet Jackson‘s truth-bearing documentary has been earning rave reviews for its colossally candid deep-dive into all corners of the icon’s life.

One of the central focuses of the four-part film was Joe Jackson, the patriarch of the singer’s legendary family.

Viewers watched as Janet acknowledged her father’s steeliness, but placed it in the context of his unwavering desire to see his children succeed. A dream that came to fruition with The Jackson 5, Janet, and, of course, Michael Jackson.

The positive presentation caught the eye of another famous father, Mathew Knowles – dad to Beyonce and Solange.

A maestro in his own right, having shepherded the careers of his daughters as well as the group Destiny’s Child, Knowles showered ample praise on Janet and the documentary more broadly for doing a solid service to Joe.
