July 12th 2015 will bring with it the return of Basketball Wives LA, the Reality TV series starring exotic dancer turned entrepreneur Draya Michele.

Alas, while fans can expect its new season to deliver many a dramatic scene we doubt they could have anticipated what happened when Michele joined the R&B singer K. Michelle on a live TV show launched to promote this week’s BET Awards.

The reclusive Lauryn Hill returns to the spotlight in honor of soul legend Nina Simone.

In a rare move, the critically hailed songstress has covered a track – namely Simone’s signature hit ‘Feeling Good.’

The former Fugees front-woman offered up her rendition for Netflix’s upcoming documentary on the diva titled ‘What Happened, Miss Simone?’

Rolling Stone reports that Hill initially signed on to record a duo of songs for the project, yet was so stirred that she ended up recording six (and becoming the soundtrack’s co-producer).

Speaking on Simone’s impact, the 40-year-old, whose ‘Miseducation’ LP was inducted into the Library of Congress, gushed:

“Because I fed on this music, both hers and lovers like her, like my basic food, I believed I always had a right to have a voice. Her example is clearly a form of sustenance to a generation needing to find theirs. What a gift.”

‘Basketball Wives LA’ is to return to VH1 for a fourth cycle o July 12th!

Fortunately, it will do so with Draya Michele despite talk that she had cut ties with the Reality TV series after an explosive brawl with Sundy Carter who wasn’t invited back to the platform.

However, fans of the show will be pleased to learn that Carter’s departure has opened the door for a new “wife” hoping to take Michele on.

‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ star Kylie Jenner has taken to Twitter to defend her father Caitlyn Jenner.
Why? He was referred to as a “science project” in a message shared by the Pop prince Chris Brown.

March 27th 2008 saw a  Beyonce number named ‘Beautiful Nightmare’ surface online and “break the internet” as anticipation for her third studio album ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ intensified.

Months later would see the cut’s official version emerge under the name ‘Sweet Dreams’ and appear on the first half of the aforementioned double-disk album.

Today, fans of the song and singer will learn that the song took no more than fifteen minutes to record.

‘Cheek to Cheek’ collaborators Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga left fans hands-to-cheek after her stunning live performance last night in San Francisco.

Taking to the Concord Pavilion, the diva – also hard at work on ‘American Horror Story’ and the follow-up to 2013’s ‘ArtPop’ – took to stage for a rousing performance of the tune ‘Bang Bang’ (found aboard her joint effort with jazz legend Bennett).

But, as fans last night can attest, the real bang came when the songstress dropped the mic to show off her oft-praised vocal chops.

As fans of Marvin Gaye await his Jesse L. Martin-led biopic with bated breath, they were hit with news that his famous singing partner, Tammi Terrell, is set to get her own biopic.

The late starlet – whose claim to fame includes hits ‘Ain’t Nothin’ Like the Real Thing’ and ‘You’re All I Need (To Get By)’ – died in 1970 at the ripe age of 24 after complications from a brain tumor.  As her legacy lives on, ‘Vampire Diaries’ star Kat Graham is set to take a bite out of bringing her life story to screens.

The news unearths just as the actress brought forth news that she’s teamed with R&B legend Babyface and is hard at work on her debut album!

‘Break Every Chain’ beauty Tasha Cobbs saw her debut effort break chains, break records, and break new ground in gospel music.  Launched from the album ‘Grace,’ the song – alongside its follow-up ‘For Your Glory’ – is still enjoying major success on the Billboard Gospel Album and Singles charts respectively.

Now, much to the dismay of competition, Cobbs’ summer due sophomore effort – kicked off by the #1 single ‘Jesus Saves’ – is looking to follow its predecessor’s suit.

‘Chocolate City’ star Robert Ri’chard makes the declaration from his home in Los Angeles, pronounced during an hour-long with That Grape Juice‘s David about his role in the new coming-of-age series ‘427.‘

The comedy/drama follows the lives of 20-somethings dealing with the realities of adulthood while at college and is led by the ‘City’ actor and produced by YouTube personality TPindell and Jon Lesane.
