TGJ:  3)  We know you started with 3LW, but what’s your relationship like now with Kiely and Naturi?

Adrienne:  I actually see nature often and we’re totally cool.  But, I actually don’t speak or have any communication with Kiely anymore.

TGJ:  4)  Would you ever be in another group?

Adrienne:  I think being in a group was so much fun. I’ve obviously been in more than one. I had an amazing time and think there’s nothing like being able to share your success with other people.

TGJ:  5)  Any other films we should expect soon?

Adrienne:  Hey you never know! I’m in L.A., taking meetings, reading scripts, and all that. I’d love to do more though.

TGJ:  Thanks for answering those!  Now, we saw that tearful goodbye on ‘The Real’ a few weeks ago.  Is it really the end?

Adrienne:  Don’t believe the rumors of us being cancelled!  It’s not true. We’re waiting to hear word and hopefully we’ll be back in 2014. I’m excited about it, I can’t wait. Same network.

TGJ:  How was your experience overall on the show?

Adrienne:  I had the best time doing ‘The Real’.  I love the perspective of the women I was doing it with. For me, I feel for the longest time I was misunderstood and there were so many misconceptions about who I am.  This allowed me to just be myself and be “real”.

Adrienne (continued):  I think I changed people’s perspective on me.  Working with those women was so much fun. I love all of them [co-stars]. I think I walked into it being nervous, but I left really proud of it.

TGJ:  Well, we look forward to seeing you guys back on the air.  Now, bringing it all home, give us one good reason we should go see ‘I’m In Love With a Church Girl’ on October 18th.

Adrienne:  It’s a feel good movie.  We go and support so many other films with violence and all that, but it’s important to let Hollywood know that people want to see movies with feel good messages and have a message of love, hope, and faith. This movie sends that message.

Move over ‘Preacher’s Wives’ and ‘Preachers Daughters’!  A breath of fresh air for reality TV may be coming in the form of a new source – ‘Preachers of L.A.’.

The reality venture, set to kick off Wednesday, October 9th at 10/9c, is Oxygen channel’s new reality show about the lives of six L.A. based megachurch pastors – Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Clarence McClendon, Pastor Wayne Chaney, Bishop Ron Gibson, Pastor Jay Haizlip and Pastor/Gospel singer Deitrick Haddon. The material extravagance of athlete’s wives, confrontational drama of real housewives, and BET Sunday Night televangelist zeal all rolled up into one, the recipe for the venture has already proven itself a polarizing one even days before its premiere.

This series meets at the intersection of religion, vanity, and good TV to boot – a mixture disconcerting for many of the religious sect. Walking the fine line of dangerously realizing suspicions and stereotypes of the lavish lives of megachurch pastors who drive Bentleys for Jesus and travel in entourages, the show definitely succeeds in entertainment value and being a catalyst for conversation.

It’s hard not to appreciate the “in-your-face” brand of honesty that the show delivers oh-so-well.  But, once the masses get a taste of what the sextet are offering a debate will surely arise about its intentions.  Is there a thinly veiled facade of exposing people to Christianity and spreading the gospel?  Or are we capitalizing on an opportunistic desire to expand brands into the realm of celebrity?

That Grape Juice was one of select outlets on hand for a private screening of one of the season‘s most anticipated sci-fi thrillers ‘Riddick’ starring Vin Diesel, Kari Urban, and TGJ-favorite Keri Hilson.

Making its debut in theatres tomorrow, TGJ caught up with the cast of the film to gain insight on their inspiration for taking the parts, expectations for the film, and so much more. Read that below:

Now that you have completed this trilogy, do you feel ready to move on from the character of Riddick or are you hungry to make more Riddick/sci-fi movies?

Vin Diesel: I would love to do more science fiction. We have another project at Universal called Soldiers of the Sun that’s very interesting and an opportunity to go into that genre. The reality is I always envisioned the Riddick franchise as a continuing mythology, so I always imagined that there would be many other films to follow.

It was one of the three promises that I either made or people assumed that I made on the social media network. One of them obviously was the return of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) to the Fast & Furious franchise, something everybody was so vocal about 4 ½ years ago. The second was the resurrection of Riddick and reawakening that mythology, and then of course the third one you all know which is Hannibal the Conqueror, which is the one promise I haven’t delivered on yet. But I will!

Vin Diesel (cont.): For this version for where Riddick is now in this movie, I went to the woods for four months and prepared by basically being a recluse. Preparing the inner core of the character, and specifically because I was also producing it, it was so important to get that core character correct so that I could easily tap into it while maintaining some kind of circumspect view of what was going on with the production as a producer.

Because you are a producer on this, how difficult is it for you to be the boss of your castmates and how do you switch out from moment to moment of being an actor to being a producer?

Vin Diesel: I try to create an environment where, when we step onto the set, we are all in character. When we played Dungeons & Dragons as kids, there would be all of us around the table and someone might say something like, “I’m tired. I just might take a nap or something.” Then the Dungeon Master would say, “Everything you say is in game.”

Vin Diesel (cont): “It is a similar approach to the way we approached making this movie. When you come on set, everything should be focused around your character and you should stay in the pocket as much as possible. Every actor has their own process, but for me I really have to stay in the pocket. So if I’m on set and I’m in character, I am not thinking like a producer. If I’m on set and I’m not in character and I’m just coming in during the moments that I’m not shooting, then I’m able to be the producer.”
