Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’  allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we’ll fly back to 2009 to revisit ‘Halo’ – the fourth single from Beyonce‘s multi-platinum tertiary solo release, ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ (2008).  Join us inside:

Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran have collaborated multiple times in the past (as the latter’s credited with penning Bieber hits ‘Cold Water,’ ‘Love Yourself’,’ and more), but their first official collaboration in duet form came courtesy of the new single, ‘I Don’t Care.’

Although greeted with much fanfare – a feat evidenced by its record-breaking streams on Spotify (click here to read more) – the tune was unable to unseat the Hot 100’s longtime leader, Lil Nas X‘s ‘Old Town Road,’ and instead made an impressive #2 debut on this week’s refreshed chart.  Billboard reports ‘Care’ cracked the chart’s upper rankings with digital song sales of 77,000 alongside handsome streaming and radio play figures.  And, while the combined sum of activity did not help them dethrone ‘Road,’ it did help Bieber extend another one of his many Hot 100 records. According to the Music Bible:

Bieber extends his mark for the most No. 2 [debuts] on the Hot 100 to four. He previously opened at the runner-up spot with “Boyfriend” (April 14, 2012), “Sorry” (Nov. 14, 2015) and “Cold Water” (Aug. 13, 2016). Of those songs, “Sorry” went on to hit No. 1 (for three weeks).

As we extend congratz to Bieber, look inside to see who joins him in the top 25 on this week’s TGJ Chart Check: Hot 100 edition:

Legendary singer Dionne Warwick caused a firestorm of controversy after a recent interview saw her weigh in on today’s talent and who among the class has the potential to be an “icon” like herself.

Nearly a month after wrapping her Vegas residency and now hot on the promo trail of her new album, ‘She’s Back’ (released May 17), the well-respected, but much outspoken diva is back on the bad side of headlines after she implied Beyonce was among those who have “a long way to go” before reaching iconic status.  Speaking with our friends at Essence recently, Warwick stated:

“I don’t know if 10 years from now, anybody can actually sing the songs of our babies today. That’s not, as you guys say, ‘throwing shade.’ That’s just looking at it with reality,” she said.

That’s not all she said.  More inside:

After reminding fans she had ‘That Magic’ with the release of her sixth studio album, ‘Worthy,’ Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter India.Arie is now showing off new single, ‘Steady Love.’

A fan favorite from the February-released project, the Blues-flavored song’s accompanying visual – which sees rapper/community activist David Banner portray her love interest – showcases the duo giving the ultimate nod to Black love.

On working with Banner, Arie stated:

“…he brought professionalism, and integrity, and a REGAL bearing to the set. I went in nervous that we’d be so close together all day… But David set the tone… He was a true joy to work with, way more than I ever could have imagined. And when he bent down and tied my shoe, I KNEW, he was my hero… Filming this video was just a TRULY inspiring day.”

Rihanna is playing no games in her quest for entrepreneurial excellence.

As we reported, the ‘Wild Thoughts’ wailer teamed with LVMH to launch her very own fashion house – simply named Fenty.

The move sees RiRi become the first Black woman to run a luxury line under such an umbrella. Fenty is also LVMH’s first original label to be established since 1987.

Suffice to say, she has much to celebrate. And that’s exactly what she did last night at the official launch of the brand in Paris.

Although March 2019 saw Lil Kim make it very clear that she and Junior M.A.F.I.A. group mate Lil’ Cease were currently on good terms (click here to see that), the ‘Crush on You’ duo crushed any rumors of beefing last night when they were spotted hand-in-hand at the first annual B.I.G. bash to celebrate what would be the birthday of the slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. (“Biggie Smalls”).

During the festivities (May 21), Cease grabbed the mic to apologize to his once-estranged friend.  As fans of both artists know, their fallout stems from 2005 when he testified against her in a case that led to her imprisonment and fining for perjury.  Although she has gone on record many times to say she was no longer associated with him due to the incident, it appears things have changed.

With a decorated resume of 30+ years of stand up comedy, sketch shows, and concerts to his credit, Jamie Foxx is a pro when it comes to the live stage.  As such, it should come as no surprise the 51-year-old – who was recently tapped to topline a live crossover remake of classic 70’s television shows ‘The Jeffersons’ and ‘All in the Family’ (as we reported here) – was able to hilariously recover when he flubbed a line.

Breaking character, the Oscar winner earned laughs from co-stars and from the audience when he stumbled over his words during the showing which aired live tonight (May 22).  Curious to see how he rebounded? Look inside:
