Despite seeing his entire 2018 rocked by nothing but controversy and backlash, is Kanye West finally turning a new leaf? If his recent interview with Chicago’s 107.5’s “WGCI Morning Show” is anything to judge by, the answer is “yes.”
Taking to the outlet, West rendered an emotional interview that saw him dish on a number of hot topics including his controversial support for Donald Trump, that ‘slavery was a choice’ comment, the Drake vs. Pusha T feud, and so much more. Near the sit-down’s end the Grammy-winner was reduced to tears and declared:
“I don’t know if I properly apologized for how the slavery comment made people feel,” he stated. “I’m sorry for the one-two of the MAGA hat into the slavery comment. And I’m sorry for people who felt let down by that moment.”
Elaborating ‘Ye stated:
“I need y’all as a city [Chicago] to just have my back and I promise you, you gon’ see a new ‘Ye,” he continued. “You gon’ feel the impact of the new relationships and the new ideas and exposure that I’ve gathered. It’s about to be applied now.”
