Ciara has found a way to make her latest critically acclaimed cut, ‘Better Thangs,’ even better!

The follow-up to her high octane comeback single, ‘Jump,’ the original incarnation of ‘Better’ famously features vocals from her fellow ATL-reared R&B diva Summer Walker.

Garnering some serious thumbs up from the GRAMMY winner’s loyal fans, affectionately called the #CSquad, the mid-tempo bop – just a month after its official release – is getting recharged thanks to rising rapstress GloRilla.

“Thought I’d never leave him, man, I thought it was impossible / Then I had to realize what I tolerate, it’s options / And anything I tell myself is poppin’, what’s poppin’?”

After jumpstarting her 8th official era with the sizzling cut ‘Jump, singer-songwriter Ciara is moving on to better thangs.

The newest taste of what’s set to line the yet-titled project’s tracklist, ‘Better Thangs’ is an “out with the old” anthem that features R&B sensation Summer Walker and sees the two trade verses about leaving a no-good man behind.

“No, it ain’t worth my time, no / Stop calling my line / You ain’t even cross my mind / Now I’m wanting better things,” they croon on the chorus.

Coming as the second time the two have shared studio time (following ‘Ciara’s Prayer’ which is featured on Walker’s Billboard 200-topping sophomore album ‘Still Over It’), hop inside to hear ‘Better.’

The twerktastic bop, which has been amply tased over the last few weeks, comes as the first taste of the gems set to line the singer’s yet-titled eighth studio album – her first under a new deal with Republic Records (as we reported here).

“If you want it, I got all the flavors you need / Get up on it, come apply that pressure on me / You’ve been waiting, saying what you gon’ do, we gon’ see,” Cici croons over the bumping Sam Sumser production.

Having just nabbed her first top 10 hit on the Gospel charts four months ago thanks to her collaboration with fellow GRAMMY winner Tasha Cobbs Leonard, singer-songwriter Ciara is no stranger to the format.

And if the response from her beloved fan base (affectionately called #CSquad) is any indication, she may be set for another run in the genre’s top 10 thanks to her feature on Maverick City Music‘s latest effort, ‘Jubilee: Juneteenth Edition’ (released June 18).

A revamp of their February 2021-released ‘Jubilee’ EP, the new edition sees the award-winning Contemporary Worship group call on a star-studded list of contributors that includes the likes of Tamar Braxton, Lecrae, Israel Houghton, Jekalyn Carr, and more to fill out its 19-song tracklist.

Blanco Brown may have already scored a top 20 hit earlier this year with his debut single, ‘The Git Up,’ but now he’s teaming with ‘Get Up’ singer Ciara to get the song back up to Billboard’s upper rankings.

Giving fans a new reason to 1,2 step, Cici takes it back to her Southern roots with the remix’s sassy verses:

“Let me see you two step, then one, two step/ Do the cowgirl boogie, both you hands like this/ Take it to the floor with a whole lotta drip/ Now show off your moves in your new outfit/ Get low…get low…get low then wind it up slow.”

While the Country, Hip Hop-inspired jam has earned comparison to that of Lil Nas X‘s megahit, ‘Old Town Road,’ the diva’s fiery contributions alongside a reported soon-to-drop music video could finally be just what ‘Git Up’ needs to get out of ‘Road’s shadow.
