After years of speculation, rumor, and mis-information, Robyn Crawford is setting the record straight – she did indeed have a romantic relationship with the late Whitney Houston.

For decades, Crawford has been as notable for her omnipresence in the singer’s career as she has been for her silence about it.

Yet, with the increased interest in the diva’s life post her tragic death in 2012, her longtime confidant is telling her side of the story. A story that has been told from many perspectives – beside hers – in a number of posthumous documentaries.

Now on the cusp of releasing her memoir, ‘A Song For You: My Life with Whitney Houston,’ Crawford’s account has been previewed by PEOPLE.

Check out excerpts from the book, which she says she is releasing to “lift her legacy, give her respect and share the story of who she was before the fame,” below…

As we reported here,  the November 1 arrival of ‘Harriet’ to movie theaters across America was greeted with controversy even before its official trailer dropped in July.

With the titular role awarded to British actress Cynthia Erivo, some voiced great disapproval at a non-ADOS (American descendant of slavery) actress winning the job.  Elsewhere, others complained about yet another film “limiting representation of Black history in film” to slavery.

And, while those plagues of controversy (and others) may have preceded the premiere of the star-studded movie (which also features Janelle Monae and Leslie Odom), the flick not only managed to earn an A+ CinemaScore from audiences but also opened to very solid figures.

The Ariana Grande-produced ‘Charlie’s Angels’ soundtrack may be lauded for assembling some of the music industry’s most recognizable voices aboard its star-studded tracklist, but its content has been subjected to mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.  And, if its predicted first week sales are to judge by, that disapproval is being reflected commercially.

After failing to fly to the top of charts as anticipated with its highly anticipated lead single, ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’ (featuring Grande, Lana Del Rey, and Miley Cyrus), the project followed with the even worse performing Kash Doll-led ‘How It’s Done.’

Despite the nonperformance of its singles suggesting an absence of buzz (a surprising feat for an effort of this caliber), the soundtrack soared onto shelves and into chart battle on November 1.  After two days of tracked streams and digital downloads, industry analysts have issued a prediction of how well they suspect the set will sell.

Dua Lipa has kicked off her sophomore campaign with new single ‘Don’t Start Now.’

The dancefloor jam arrives on the heels the singer’s breakthrough success – which was very much a global phenomenon and earned her a Best New Artist award at the Grammys and three BRIT Awards.

Speaking on the track, she explained:

“I chose to put this song out first so I could close one chapter of my life and start another. Into a new era with a new sound! It’s about moving on and not allowing anyone to get in the way of that. It also felt like a natural first song choice as I made it with the brilliant same crew I made ‘New Rules’ with.”

With its video due later today, Lipa has uniquely shared the full length song in visual format; one that also dubs as a preview for the Nabil directed video.
