In the seven years since Frank Ocean‘s 2012 breakthrough ‘Channel Orange,’ the singer-songwriter has ascended the upper echelon of music’s elite.

Fuelled by purposeful privacy and projects released at sparse rates, the performer has unlocked new levels of popularity.

Ever mysterious, the star emerges from the shadows to cover the February 2019 edition of GQ Magazine, which also dubs as its Music Issue.

Beyond posing for a dapper shoot (lensed by Alasdair McLellan), the 31-year-old gave a rare interview – opening  up about his recent relocation to New York, his approach to music today, and more.

R. Kelly‘s former tour manager Demetrius Smith has emerged as one of the villains of the ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ story.

For, like the singer Sparkle, he has been upbraided for not doing enough to protect underage girls (including the singer Aaliyah) from Robert and for forging legal documents which “allowed” him to wed the singer when she was in the 10th grade.

Now, as the backlash he is facing intensifies, he has shed more light on his time with the alleged paedophile and revealed that he is just as introduced in exploiting males as he is females…and once came onto him by  walking into his hotel room naked, putting his bare buttocks in his face and asked if he “wanted some of this.”

Music lovers have finally said “thank u, next” to Ariana Grande‘s chart-topping megahit as, after 7 nonconsecutive weeks of reigning atop the Hot 100 (as we reported here), the diva’s been ousted by another female Pop force:  Halsey.

Dethroning Grande with her hit ‘Without Me,’ Halsey earns her first chart-topper as a lead act, second overall (the first came courtesy of her guest role on ‘Closer’ by The Chainsmokers).  In addition to becoming only the 9th female artist to notch multiple #1 singles this decade (Rihanna – 9, Katy Perry – 8, Taylor Swift – 5, Adele – 4, Cardi B – 3, Kesha – 3, P!nk – 3, Britney Spears – 3), the singer’s done so with a little help from friend Justin Timberlake.  As her cut, ‘Without Me,’ features interpolations of Timberlake’s Timbaland-produced hit, ‘Cry Me a River,’ the song lists JT as a co-writer and thereby sees him credited by Billboard with another #1 to his name.  The move brings his career total to 6 chart-toppers to date.

Universal Pictures is packing a whole lot of funny into its latest film – ‘Little.’

Anchored by Regina Hall, Issa Rae, and Marsai Martin, the movie is impressively based on an idea cooked up by the 14-year-old ‘black-Ish’ star.

It sees both Hall and Martin take on the role of Jordan Sanders – a no-nonsense tech mogul. You may be wondering… how?

Well, an adult Sanders is on the cusp of a super important presentation, only to wake up as the 13-year-old version of herself. And with assistant April (played by ‘Insecure’s Issa Rae) the only one in-the-know about what’s happened, hilarity ensues as they attempt to salvage the situation — with everything on the line.

Due in theaters April 12th, ‘Little’ is billed as a story about success, the power of sisterhood and having a second chance to grow up — and glow up — the right way.

Peep the first trailer after the jump…
