Lil Kim is keeping true to her word about her desire to “pass the torch” to the next generation of emcees as evidenced by the new song ‘Love For Ya.’

Released Friday (February 16), the cut features the Rap Queen’s mentee Tayy Brown and sees them spit bars about the measures they’re willing to go to keep peace in their lives.

“On the flight to Florida, but I promise I have love for ya / If I catch ya, I won’t let you go I’m pulling out that rod for ya / And free them boys out ssg but I swear I still break the law for ya / Don’t do a lot of barking but I swear I’ll act a dog for ya,” Brown relays on the first verse of the Austin Kobar and Bayley Hodge-produced tune.

Usher‘s highly anticipated headlining gig of the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday (February 11) helped the big game run into record books as the most-watched television program in history.

Among the eyes glued to the electrifying showing were the good folks at ‘Rolling Stone’ who were clearly pleased with what they saw.

So much so, they have already updated their ‘greatest Super Bowl Halftime Shows’ list to include the R&B crooner in its higher rankings.

Affion Crockett brings the funny like never before with his new comedy ‘A Hip Hop Story.’

Also serving as the film’s producer, ‘Story’ tells the tale of a music mogul/entrepreneur who joins forces with some of Rap music’s biggest names to save the genre from crisis.

Alongside Affion, the hilarious spoof on recognizable figures like JAY-Z, Kanye West, Russell Simmons, and more features an all-star cast that includes Cedric the Entertainer, Lil Mama, Lil Rel Howery, Wayne Brady, Miles Brown, Fredo Starr, Treach, Page Kennedy, Craig Wayans, Damien Dante Wayans, and Damaine Radcliff (who also serves as the movie’s director).

“A Hip Hop story is our love letter to the culture that shaped our lives. It’s a comedy with a message that encourages all of us to see our value,” said Crockett in a press statement.

Hosted in New York, the launch of the Netflix film was attended by its producer Tyler Perry and co-star Trevante Rhodes. 

Ms. Kelly was also supported on her big night by Destiny’s Child bandmates Beyonce and Michelle Williams, JAY-Z, Tina Knowles, Angela Beyince, and more.

‘Mea Culpa’ premieres on Netflix on February 23.

Having already made a splash with critics with her new single ‘High Water,’ GRAMMY-winning songstress Tori Kelly is undoubtedly looking to see that triumph reflected commercially as she pushes full steam ahead with promo of the inspirational cut.

The lead single from the April 5-due album ‘Tori‘ (her first traditional studio effort since 2019’s ‘Inspired by True Events‘), the Tenroc-produced tune gets its first taste of the visual treatment via an intimate live clip.

“Something is comin’ in the mornin’ / If I can make it through the night / Whatever comes, Hell or high water / I know, I know what’s on the other side,” she wails with help from a six-piece choir filled with different versions of herself.
