A year after hitting #1 with her comeback album, ‘Rainbow,’ singer Kesha is still looking to shine light on the set – her first since her highly documented legal battle with former producer/mentor Dr. Luke.
Looking to give fans a closer look at her life, the creation process of the project, and more, Kesha’s teamed with Apple music for ‘Rainbow – the Film.’ Shot in a documentary style a la Lady Gaga‘s ‘Five Foot Two,’ Demi Lovato‘s ‘Simply Complicated,’ and more, the 31-year-old took to Twitter recently (July 30) to announce the flick as a commemoration of the first year anniversary of its parent album’s release. This, after taking to Billboard to say:
“Making Rainbow the album was such a therapeutic process and given the opportunity to turn it into a three-dimensional piece of art has helped me find even deeper healing and catharsis,” she stated. She added hopes that the release will have a larger impact on those who follow along.”
Later, she added:
“I hope this film inspires others to never give up even if you feel full of hurt or lost, because after the storm comes a rainbow. Depression, anxiety and mental illness are things we all need to talk about more, and there is no shame in asking for help. Making the decision to work on yourself is the bravest thing you can do…”

Having amassed her fair share of critically acclaimed R&B gems (and a cult following as a result) in the two years since that project’s arrival, fans were thrilled to learn the burgeoning beauty is already hard at work on her official sophomore LP.
However, before they’re set to get their hands, eyes, and ears on some of its offerings, they’ll be tided over with ‘I Used To Know HER,’ a self-proclaimed ‘prelude’ to her secondary set. Taking to Instagram, Wilson gave fans short notice on when they’ll be able to expect the project.
