Don’t think the absence of her serially delayed debut album, ‘Pretty B*tch Music,’ means Saweetie is resting on her laurels.

The project – orginally due in summer 2021 – is undergoing an extensive revamp conceptually and sonically.

“I honestly have an ample amount of songs. It’s all about figuring out what kind of story I want to tell,” she said recently. “I don’t know if I want a linear story…I don’t want it to be an album just full of hits. Yes, I want it to have hits but I want the songs to correlate with one another.”

Until she’s ready to lift the lid on official news surrounding the LP, however, she’s building an entertainment portfolio across multiple genres that will keep her in the public eye until the set is done baking.

If there’s ever any doubt how close the two have gotten, however, Rapp made headlines recently when she went all the way there in support of her GRAMMY-winning gal pal.

Walking the AMC Lincoln Square Theater’s carpet alongside the movie’s stars including Renee Rapp (who she also shares the song ‘Not My Fault‘ with on the flick’s official soundtrack), Stallion shared her elation for being included in the adapted version of the 2004 cult classic.

“I love her and I love ‘Mean Girls,'” Megan told the press. “It was only right they had to call the H-Town hottie out here. I been calling myself the Black ‘Regina George’ for, like, ever. And here I am. This is really my dream, so I’m so happy. I’m excited to be a part of this.”

With over 100 million records sold globally, Mary J. Blige stands as one of the most successful female acts in R&B history.

Yet, despite launching unforgettable songs like ‘Real Love,’ ‘Not Gon Cry,’ ‘My Life,’ ‘Family Affair,’ ‘Be Without You,’ and many more over her 32-year career, fans would be surprised to learn most of her sales accolades have been awarded to those tunes’ parent albums and not the singles themselves.

The latest evidence of that came Thursday (January 4) when the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) lifted a toast to her 2022 hit ‘Good Morning Gorgeous‘ – the title track from her 14th studio album of the same name.

From their ‘Greatest Singers Ever‘ and ‘Top 200 Songs of the 80s‘ to the ‘Top 15 Rap Songs of 2023‘ and beyond, Rolling Stone is no stranger to getting collective side-eyes from music lovers for their polarizing rankings on “best-ever” tallies.

And, if the response to one of their latest lists is any indication, that criticism won’t be stopping any time soon.

Turning heads this week with the unveiling of the ‘100 Best R&B Songs of the 21st Century,’ the lineup featured some expected entries in unexpected positions alongside some snubs and downright shocking placements.

Among those was the surprise that Beyonce‘s solo rendition of Destiny’s Child‘s 2001 classic ‘Dangerously In Love‘ was crowned the top female R&B song of the century.
