Branden Miller, the brains behind the crass and cantankerous comedy gem Joanne the Scammer, has revealed that he has found a friend in Netflix.

During a recent interview the actor revealed that after watching the character blossom online for over decade (he got his start as one of YouTube‘s first influencers) he has now caught the support of the streaming platform.

Via ‘Unicorn’:

Miller told Janet Mock on the podcast that “someone from Netflix” was currently writing the show. The show’s exact format is still somewhat hazy, with Miller admitting, “I can’t even speak that far ahead because I don’t even know.”

Miller added: “If you know Joanne on Instagram, there are little snippets of her life” in which Joanne appears “right in the middle of a scam. So I’m capturing that. Instagram gives you one minute of that, the show will give you the whole storyline.”

If true, his union with the platform would see Joanne’s tale stand alongside the projects ‘Black Mirror‘, ‘Orange is the New Black‘ , ‘13th‘, ‘House of Cards‘ and ‘Luke Cage’ which all have soared since being introduced to the critical mass as exclusives.

With over 20 million units sold worldwide Justin Bieber’s chart record remains the envy of many a Pop prince.

Alas, a new report unleashed today suggests the same can’t be said for him as far as filling stadiums is concerned.

Sources at AEG Presents, the company behind his ‘Purpose World Tour‘ have revealed that execs aren’t bothered by Bieber’s decision to cancel its next set of dates because they weren’t selling.

Billboard shares…

Company sources say, overall, the 154-concert tour was very successful, but some of the final dates weren’t selling that well. After playing sold-out arena dates all over the country, Bieber might have been pushing his luck trying to return and play stadium shows without releasing a new album, sources say.

Just one of the 14 shows left on the tour was a sellout, and in nearly every market, 5,000 to 12,000 tickets per show were available on the secondary market, often priced below face value. That made it very difficult to sell any additional tickets, and in many markets there were large sections of the stadium that were unsold.

These talkative sources added:

If the sales were better, we might have pushed a little harder to try and convince him to finish the tour.

Fortunately, Bieber pocketed a sweet $68 million from dates he committed to playing this year and is unlikely to face any legal lashings from AEG as both parties agreed to the cancellation.

The demise of Jay-Z‘s friendship with Kanye West is sad to say the very least.

Fuelled by supposed backstabbing, allegedly shady business deals and talk of a feud between their wives, the brotherhood’s death is now the subject of a new documentary set to explore its origins.

Will it get to the bottom of the beef? Probably not. However, the piece (which is named ‘Public Enemies: Jay-Z vs Kanye’) will offer viewers insight into their respective journeys and how the lessons it taught them built and broke their bond.

‘Public Enemy’ airs July 31st on Channel 4.

“You work so hard over the years, only for people to walk over your star”

Those were the words from Usher, who is the latest name to saddle up for ‘Carpool Karaoke’ with James Corden. It goes without saying that everything from the timing to his utterances defines ironic.

The singer is presently embroiled in one of the biggest scandals of the year, after a settled lawsuit that saw him pay $1.1 million to a woman he allegedly infected with herpes went public. In the time since, another woman has come forth claiming the same and is seeking $40 million.

It’s safe to assume that Ush’s segment was taped some time ago, but it’s arrival has to be more than coincidental?

In any case, watch the 38-year-old belt hits such as ‘Burn’ and ‘Caught Up’ after the jump…
