Mary J. Blige is renown for baring her soul…in song.

However, it appears the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul is now venting on via social media.

As widely reported, MJB is in the thick of dirty divorce battle with husband and former manager Kendu Isaacs.

Today she shocked the masses, when she took to Twitter to post the following…

Some are scratching their heads, as she’s candid but rarely “this” candid. However, it wouldn’t be far fetched given how contentious their very public split has been.

Indeed, as widely reported, Kendu has petitioned for a hefty amount of coin as well as spousal support.

What’s more, during a recent run of promo for new album ‘Strength Of A Woman,’ the singer heavily alluded to Isaacs cheating on her. She also flat out said that he tried to dent her confidence by saying that her fans had deserted her.

Viewed this way, we can’t say we blame her.

Lady Gaga sprung a sprung a surprise on fans at Coachella tonight in the form of a brand new song ‘The Cure.’

Speaking to the Californian crowd, Mother Monster explained:

“I’ve been so excited for this next part of the show because I’ve been trying to keep it a secret for so long I’ve been in the studio and I’d like to debut a brand new song, The Cure.”

I love you guys so much. I have been through so much in my life and I’ve seen so much. And you cure me every time with your love.” {GGD}

Take a listen below…

Yes, yes, and yes!

Now, this is what hits are made of.

It’s sonically in the thick of what’s current, while also serving as something fresh for Gaga’s discography.

It remains to be seen if this is in anyway connected to ‘Joanne’ or whether this is tied to a different project altogether. But, either way, we aren’t complaining; this is a winner.

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we’ll go to ‘There You Go’ – the debut single from pop powerhouse P!nk.  Written by Xscape‘s Kandi Burruss and P!nk herself, the tune served as the first release from the latter’s inaugural album, ‘Can’t Take Me Home’ (read our ode to the full album by clicking here).

The songstress and her Urban-inspired pop tune were welcomed by critics as a much needed departure from the wealth of vocally incapable pop offerings of the day.  Rebellious and spunky, ‘Go’ went to the upper dectet of the Billboard Hot 100 in no time.  Eventually peaking at #7, this week in 2000 saw the tune maintain its perch for a second rung before eventually slipping out of the top 10.  Not only serving as an unforgettable introduction to the singer/songwriter who – unlike many of her contemporaries of the day – has stood the test of time, ‘Go’ also helped ‘Home’ hit the 2x platinum mark when all was said and done.

Tuck in below to see who else joined her in the Hot 100 this week 17 years ago:

With his Uganda-shot new video, ‘Unforgettable,’ many will perceive French Montana‘s latest as an attempt to convince the masses he’s not a colorist after a fiery, racially charged verbal attack on a Twitter user (read more about that by clicking here).  That, however, shouldn’t take away from the beauty of scenes found aboard the clip.

Tagging Rae Sremmurd‘s Swae Lee to assist, the duo took a safari in Kampala, Uganda for their island-inspired tune.  Coming across trouble along the way in the cinematic video, which apparently lays the groundwork for a sequel, tuck in to watch and weigh in:

While the talk of the week was undoubtedly Kendrick Lamar and his latest tune, ‘Humble,’ that impressively debuted at #2 on the Hot 100, even King Kendrick had to humbly bow to the chart’s longtime ruler – Ed Sheeran.  Thanks to continued support from his beloved #Sheerios, Sheeran’s scored yet another week’s reign atop the Hot 100 (his 11th nonconsecutive week to be exact).  Billboard reports:

“Shape” adds a ninth week at No. 1 on Radio Songs (181 million in audience, up 4 percent in the week ending April 9, according to Nielsen Music).   “Shape” drops to No. 2 after four frames at No. 1 on Streaming Songs (43.2 million U.S. streams, down 6 percent, in the week ending April 6) and to No. 3 after 10 weeks atop Digital Song Sales (76,000 downloads sold, down 10 percent, in the week ending April 6).

With all the figures combined, Ed looks down on the competition once again.  If next week will sing the same tune, we don’t know, but what we do know is you can see who joined Sheeran and K.Dot in the top 25 of this week’s Hot 100 inside:

Has Chris Brown hit the jackpot with the casino-inspired visual for his latest single, ‘Privacy’?  If you asked us, the answer is a resounding “yes.”

The third release for his forthcoming album, ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon,’ the R&B bad boy revives his blonde hair for its glossy accompanying visual and – per usual – shows off some fancy footwork amidst some scantily clad, booty-shaking female onlookers. Thanks to the neon-colored clip, directed by Brown himself, there is no shortage of jaw-dropping images to match the song’s already explicit content.

We should’ve known from the chart success of ‘Humble,’ the first official single from Kendrick Lamar‘s new album, ‘Damn,’ how highly anticipated the set was.  However, industry analysts are predicting the set’s first week sales will exceed even what we foresaw.

Available as of  Thursday night [April 13], the project – Lamar’s fourth – immediately shot to #1 on iTunes digital charts and similarly took over Spotify streaming charts.  In fact, the reception to ‘Damn’ is so heavy industry analysts are predicting it will make K.Dot the second artist in history to garner over 200 million streams in one week with one album.

With 50 million of those streams earned in just one day, are you curious to see where it’s predicted to land when pure sales are factored in?  Find out inside:

Janet Jackson sent the net into a frenzy last night when she shared the first picture of her three month old son Eissa.

And now, less than 24 hours later, more shots have surfaced. This time via the tot’s father – Wissam Al Mana.

The Qatari businessman was snapped doting over the child while taking him for a stroll in a London park.

A post shared by Nikkayy (@liljanetsullivan) on

It’s being reported that while Jackson has moved out of the couple’s British residence, she has her own place there and will split her time between the UK capital and Los Angeles.

Many seem to be concocting a narrative of chaos, but it seems (at least from where we’re standing) that there’s a degree of united between mother and father. Especially given that Wissam that does a lot of business from London and Janet – despite the split – will still live there.

Whatever the case, we wish them the best.

Welcome to Retro Rewind, the TGJ original feature carved out to honour artists who used their lives to enrich the lives of others.

Today, as the world of professional football punishes Colin Kaepernick for taking a stand against systemic racism against the African-American community, we revisit the moment in time which saw Eartha Kitt penalised for doing the same.

After discovering the ways in which the U.S. government was using legislation to stifle the African-American experience, Kitt found herself unable to turn a blind eye when the same government asked the same African-Americans to risk their lives by fighting its wars.

What happened when she raised her concerns during a visit to the White House?

Janet Jackson‘s decision to steer clear of celebrity within the last decade has brought its pros and cons.

On one hand, it’s seen her enjoy a life of privacy away from the pressures stardom often brings.

However, it’s also seen her legacy left in the hands of a fickle industry who, for one reason or another, have erased her impact on Pop culture from the genre’s history books.

With this in mind, it may come as little surprise to see music lovers who are too young to remember said impact have clung to claims that she married and divorced her husband for money.

Today, her best friend Gil Duldulao has blasted these fans.
