Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon continue to serve as a shining example of commendable co-parents.

The pair went their separate ways in 2015 after five years of marriage. Yet, in the time since, they’ve made a point to spend time as a unit with their adorable twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Easter 2017 is one of such occasions.

Taking to social media, Mimi shared a shot of the Carey-Cannon family coloring their eggs. The snap comes a week after news hit that she and dancer Bryan Tanaka have parted after five months “together.”

Kudos to she and Nick for doing well by their kids. Maturity at its finest.

During Destiny’s Child run, the many line-up’s have blessed the masses with many a classic gem. This week’s From The Vault hailed by many as their defining song. Today we salute ‘Say My Name.’

Rumor has it the ladies hated the song in its initial form, saying that there was too much happening on the track. It was only after reworking by its producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins that track evolved into a favorite of theirs.

Penned by the group’s original lineup, the song was serviced as the third offering from their sophomore set ‘The Writing’s On The Wall.’ After hitting #1 in the U.S. and Australia and scoring Top 5 placing in the U.K. and Canada, ‘Say My Name’ was considered a pivotal moment for R&B music and turned the band into a household name.

But with all this success came a dose of drama…

The music video for ‘Say My Name’ featured the second incarnation of Destiny’s Child, which saw Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin replacing LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson.

According to Luckett and Roberson – who had asked for separate management because of perceived favoritism from manager and Beyonce’s dad, Mathew Knowles, they didn’t know they were out of the group. Not until ‘Say My Name’s  simultaneous premiere on MTV and BET in February 2000. A press release announcing the lineup change sealed their fate.

Directed by Joseph Kahn, it presented the four members in color-coded moving sets. In most of the clip, the girls can be seen posing instead of dancing as a result of having no time to learn the song’s choreography.

Looking back, it’s nothing short of miraculous DC came out of this scotfree as it remains one of the most soap-opera like dramas Pop culture has witnessed. Talk about being a survivor. Still, one thing must be said about Destiny’s Child: no matter who was in the group, talent has always been its defining feature. It’s no surprise, then, why they would go on to become one of the most iconic acts of all time.

The actor/singer Tyrese has apologised to the world after it slammed his latest verbal assault on women.

Often criticised for overlooking problems created by men when sharing his thoughts on relationships, the gifted star took to social media hours ago to ask for forgiveness when his latest remarks threatened to derail his brand and promotion for his new ‘Fast & Furious‘ movie venture.

Because I’m gonna tell you all right now, and this might be harsh. Sluts, skeezers, hoes, tramps and overly aggressive promiscuous women, they are never without a man because they don’t have no standards. They ready to have sex with any and everything that want to have sex with them. But when you are single, and you actually love yourself, you know your value and your self worth you hold out until God sends you whats yours.

So sometimes they be talking mess to women that are single but I have a respect for them because if you’re single and you might say, “I’ve been single for a couple years,” what ever the case may be, you actually holding out because you have your value. You have women that are active out in these streets, they going to lunches and dinners every night. Private planes, mega yachts, it’s cracking. They’re never without. However, it comes with a cost, you gonna put a lot of miles on yourself down there, come on.

How he feels about it all now?

For the record, I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist, or flat out mean. My intentions were there, but my delivery f—ing horrible. And clearly all the way off. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words — s— gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me. Even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself. I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used, and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages,” he added. “I am not perfect or all-knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. I’ve learned things through experience which I share, and through these last couple of weeks, I’ve learned a lot through this well-deserved internet dragging. This is about a man owning up to his actions, taking responsibility, recognizing how to do better, and actually doing better. Ladies you deserve better.

My mother taught me better than this….. lesson learned in life you will learn that It’s not always “what” you say, it’s the “how” we choose to say it. For the record I’m far from a misogynist, a male chauvinist or flat out mean….. My intentions were there but my delivery fucking horrible…. And clearly all the way off…. And for that I sincerely apologize to all of the ladies… Even after this apology…. Some may likely decide to NOT forgive me…. Time and consistency heals all wounds…. Although I’ve been consistently for years speaking on these topics and some of the same words in my message, I have never experienced what I am experiencing right now. – I’ve been getting dragged and feel the heat from my poor choice of words and approach to my messages, trust me….. Please accept this as my sincere apology for my poor choice of words – Shit gets real when it goes from a social media dragging to my own wife giving me the side eye and coming at me, even she’s not happy with the way I’ve conducted myself…. it’s crazy how non-public figures can say and do some really dumb shit and it will stay amongst your family and friends or local in your hood…. When you have been an entertainer for 15+ years the whole WORLD is literally watching you grow up & learn, bump your head, make mistakes and evolve as the world watches…. This is a real lesson learned… This is not just a regular IG post for me. I want to truly say that I’m sorry, I’m not APOLOGIZING in an effort to be politically correct, I apologize as a man first for the things that I’ve recently said about choices women have the right to make, for the terms that I’ve used and the way I’ve come across. I was raised to think and feel certain ways, and I’m learning new things that combat those messages. I am not perfect or all knowing, nor am I the one to claim to be. I’ve learned things through experience which I share, and through these last couple of weeks, I’ve learned a lot through this well deserved internet dragging…… This is about a man owning up to his actions, taking responsibility, recognizing how to do better, and actually doing better. Just hours after releasing surprise new single ‘The Cure,’ Lady Gaga has found herself in a position to which she has become accustomed – #1.

The Pop force has stormed to the top of the US iTunes tally with the track, which has received a potently positive response since being debuted live at Coachella.

Produced by Nick Monson, the rousing production also sits atop of the pack on UK iTunes. In doing so, it dethrones the seemingly unshakable Harry Styles in the process.

***********

The arrival and early success of ‘Cure’ is fascinating.

Indeed, not only was it totally unexpected, it re-writes the usual “what is the next single from the album” narrative.

Gaga is still in-cycle for her ‘Joanne’ LP and sets sail on a tour to support the set in August, and yet ‘The Cure’ is not featured on the project.

Could it be a re-release track? A standalone track to plug the tour? Or the launch of something different?

The latter doesn’t seem far-fetched. After all, Gaga mastered this with ‘The Fame’ and ‘Fame Monster’ mixed, meshed eras almost a decade ago.

Whatever the case, we’re buzzed.

‘The Cure’ is the most mainstream, Pop-pleasing song she’s released in years and should go someway in satisfying all corners of the public.

It sounds like a smash in waiting. It’ll be interesting to see whether its success sustains.

Mary J. Blige is renown for baring her soul…in song.

However, it appears the Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul is now venting on via social media.

As widely reported, MJB is in the thick of dirty divorce battle with husband and former manager Kendu Isaacs.

Today she shocked the masses, when she took to Twitter to post the following…

Some are scratching their heads, as she’s candid but rarely “this” candid. However, it wouldn’t be far fetched given how contentious their very public split has been.

Indeed, as widely reported, Kendu has petitioned for a hefty amount of coin as well as spousal support.

What’s more, during a recent run of promo for new album ‘Strength Of A Woman,’ the singer heavily alluded to Isaacs cheating on her. She also flat out said that he tried to dent her confidence by saying that her fans had deserted her.

Viewed this way, we can’t say we blame her.

Lady Gaga sprung a sprung a surprise on fans at Coachella tonight in the form of a brand new song ‘The Cure.’

Speaking to the Californian crowd, Mother Monster explained:

“I’ve been so excited for this next part of the show because I’ve been trying to keep it a secret for so long I’ve been in the studio and I’d like to debut a brand new song, The Cure.”

I love you guys so much. I have been through so much in my life and I’ve seen so much. And you cure me every time with your love.” {GGD}

Take a listen below…

Yes, yes, and yes!

Now, this is what hits are made of.

It’s sonically in the thick of what’s current, while also serving as something fresh for Gaga’s discography.

It remains to be seen if this is in anyway connected to ‘Joanne’ or whether this is tied to a different project altogether. But, either way, we aren’t complaining; this is a winner.

Readers of That Grape Juice know what avid music lovers we are – especially of hits past.

So, just as our retrospective features ‘From the Vault’ and ‘TGJ Replay’ allow us the chance to re-spin the gems and jams of yesterday of one artist, our newest feature Chart Rewind – a variation of our current Retro Rewind assay – accedes salutes to an entire era of music history.

This week we’ll go to ‘There You Go’ – the debut single from pop powerhouse P!nk.  Written by Xscape‘s Kandi Burruss and P!nk herself, the tune served as the first release from the latter’s inaugural album, ‘Can’t Take Me Home’ (read our ode to the full album by clicking here).

The songstress and her Urban-inspired pop tune were welcomed by critics as a much needed departure from the wealth of vocally incapable pop offerings of the day.  Rebellious and spunky, ‘Go’ went to the upper dectet of the Billboard Hot 100 in no time.  Eventually peaking at #7, this week in 2000 saw the tune maintain its perch for a second rung before eventually slipping out of the top 10.  Not only serving as an unforgettable introduction to the singer/songwriter who – unlike many of her contemporaries of the day – has stood the test of time, ‘Go’ also helped ‘Home’ hit the 2x platinum mark when all was said and done.

Tuck in below to see who else joined her in the Hot 100 this week 17 years ago:

With his Uganda-shot new video, ‘Unforgettable,’ many will perceive French Montana‘s latest as an attempt to convince the masses he’s not a colorist after a fiery, racially charged verbal attack on a Twitter user (read more about that by clicking here).  That, however, shouldn’t take away from the beauty of scenes found aboard the clip.

Tagging Rae Sremmurd‘s Swae Lee to assist, the duo took a safari in Kampala, Uganda for their island-inspired tune.  Coming across trouble along the way in the cinematic video, which apparently lays the groundwork for a sequel, tuck in to watch and weigh in:
