‘Baywatch’ is back!

Box office wonder Dwayne Johnson leads the revival of the TV classic that surfs into cinemas on May 26th.

Borrowing from the original, the reimagined flick follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Joining forces, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.

“Every time you count Mariah out, she comes back swinging” – a sentiment shared by many-a-Lamb after the shambolic New Year’s Eve 2017 performance that kicked the singer’s year off in the worst way. Dominating headlines for Carey’s uncaring demeanor, shameless lipsyncing, and misfired choreography, the set of performances not only set in motion doubt about her abilities to perform, but drew concern the ‘Touch My Body’ belter had finally lost her “touch.”

To hush the naysayers, Carey called upon her trusted, longtime collaborators – Bryan Michael Cox and Jermaine Dupri – to aid with the creation of the perfect tune to hoist the diva back to the top of charts.  Together, the trio cooked up ‘I Don’t’ – a fiery R&B ‘breakup anthem’ decorated with an infectious bass line and a set of sharp lyrics many would assume were musical darts for her ex-billionaire beau James Packer.  Tapping rapper YG to assist, the song was preceded by a number of appetite-whetting teasers before its official February 3 launch…

Billboard Hot 100 is becoming a man’s world once again.

Barring entries from serial hitmakers Rihanna and Taylor Swift, the chart’s upper dectet is completely made up of men – with the day’s biggest male hitmakers – The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, and Ed Sheeran – all seeing their name among the top ten’s tenants.

The latter, whose mega hit ‘Shape of You’ lodged its eighth non-consecutive week atop charts this week, still rings as the clear leader of all the data arenas that make up chart placements:  digital sales, streaming, and radio airplay.  However, with impressive gains from the likes of Weeknd’s Daft Punk-assisted ‘I Feel It Coming’ and Mars’ out of this world hit, ‘That’s What I Like,’ Sheeran’s eighth week at the top just may be his last.

After watching his debut solo project, ‘Mind of Mine,’ disappear from charts almost as quickly as it topped them, fans may have thought it would be a while before the crooner’s follow-up project landed on shelves.  But, if the frenzy whipped up by his post on Twitter today was any indication, they may be wrong.

Tapping artist/producer PARTYNEXTDOOR to help, it looks like Malik still got time to show fans what he’s been up to in place of promoting his inaugural outing.  A dancehall flavored-effort, a snippet of ‘Still Got Time’ – due this Friday (March 24) – accompanied its announcement and serves as indication his sophomore release may be just as saturated with Urban-inspired sounds as its predecessor.

But, before we jump too many conclusions, just make time for the snippet of ‘Still Got Time’ inside and weigh in:
