Much to the surprise of her supporters, sales of Remy Ma’s new LP picked up one of the lowest-numbers for a female rapper in chart history when it dropped last week.

Fortunately, the rapper continues to win where it counts most…her craft.

However, after she struggled to remember the lyrics to the song she penned to scold her nemesis Nicki Minaj during her most recent live show, thousands have taken to social media to offer a theory or two.

As Viola Davis & Mahershala Ali‘s films, ‘Fences’ and ‘Moonlight’ respectively, were two of the year’s most Academy Award-nominated movies, fans of both took a deep sigh of relief when the works were honored by the voting committee for their groundbreaking performances.

The wins not only come for triumphs for people of color, many of whom have lashed out at the academy for reportedly limiting the types of roles African Americans are generally nominated for, but also for Davis & Ali who see their names penciled in history books as a result.

As her Nicki Minaj-enlisted tune, ‘Side To Side,’ refuses to step outside of the Billboard Hot 100’s top 30, Ariana Grande‘s called on Future to assist with helping her return to the chart’s perch with ‘Everyday.’

Much like ‘Side,’ Everyday – a highly sexualized tune – sees Grande coo some seriously R-rated lyrics over a bass driven beat (see:  mention of orgasms and more).

With an introduction from ‘La La Land’ co-stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, Grammy award winning crooner John Legend took the stage to perform an awe-inspiring rendition of the Oscar-nominated tune ‘City of Stars’ (which went on to win ‘Best Song’ at the ceremony).

As scenes from the heavily nominated film flashed behind him, Legend delivered a medley of songs from the movie – ‘Audition’ and ‘Stars’ – in front of a starry backdrop as dancers elegantly traipsed the stage.

The credits are rolling on the 89th Annual Academy Awards, known more commonly as the 2017 Oscars.

Hailing from Hollywood, the night saw the year’s most notable releases honored for their multi-layered contributions to the world of film.

Like any memorable ceremony, it was the unscripted moments that made for the most resonating.
